Thank you, Hon. Peter MacKay, for your support and for these kind words. Tonight at 7:30, on my Conversations with Rick Peterson, I will highlight why endorsements for nomination candidates are more important than you might think. Hope you can join us. #EdmontonStrathcona

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been reaching out to leaders in #EdmontonStrathcona's faith communities and hearing about their interests and priorities. I’ve had a number of fascinating conversations and will share with you one particular issue that strikes me as a particularly powerful message for newcomers to our community. Join the conversation Tuesday evening at 7:30 PM.

We have two Business Improvement Areas in #EdmontonStrathcona. Last week I spoke with the Directors of each. I’ll tell you why they’re very interested in seeing if we can take a leadership role in the financing hub initiative I outline in my recent blog post: https://www.rickcpc.ca/edmonton_strathcona_global_financing. To hear more, join the conversation with me tomorrow evening at 7:30 PM

The picture on the left shows Tim Uppal, Edmonton Mill Woods Conservative Member of Parliament at the Phoenix Gun Range in #EdmontonStrathcona Tim posted this photo on Twitter today, saying how he is looking forward to taking his Canadian Firearms Safety Course. ... I hope he does and is then able to become a licensed gun owner, like I am. I've invited Tim to come with me and my Golden Retrievers next fall on a duck shoot, as I did a few weeks ago, pictured on the right. If elected Member of Parliament for Edmonton Strathcona, you can be sure that I will bring a strong, urban voice as a legal firearms owner. Current Liberal firearms legislation, which the federal NDP wants to aggressively expand, does absolutely nothing to stop gang violence and the flow of illegal arms into Canada. Nothing. Let's get to work and change this now.

Everyone wants lower fees and more choice when it comes to cell phone plans and banking options. Unfortunately, our federal government has done virtually nothing to increase competition in these two areas. Competition is what will ultimately give everyone more choice, and better prices. Increasing competition in telecommunication and banking will be a priority for me as the next MP for Edmonton Strathcona

As our campaign for the Conservative Party of Canada's nomination in Edmonton Strathcona enters its eighth month, here's what we know counts for the residents of our riding. #LetsGetToWork https://www.rickcpc.ca/what_counts

What an amazing story! I know lots of big game hunters in Alberta who would be onside with this. And if it extended to migratory or upland game birds, I’d be the first in line to help make this work. https://www.theglobeandmail.com//article-stepping-up-newf/

Nobody wants Canada's airlines to fail and disappear. There is a case for government support in this sector - but with strings attached. https://www.rickcpc.ca/flyers_poker

I'm still shocked that Edmonton Strathcona MP Heather McPherson actually requested that Alberta be shut out from federal health transfers. If this bothers you as much as it bothers me, help spread the word!

The NDP's plan for nuclear energy is to shut it down entirely. I couldn't disagree more. Nuclear energy needs to be a core component of our climate strategy, which is why I will strongly support nuclear energy as the MP for Edmonton Strathcona

That's right Barry! I'm looking forward to helping Albertans get back to work. Thnak you for your support!

Rick Peterson 07.10.2020

It is totally fine to disagree with Premier Kenney on healthcare. However, it is totally unacceptable for Edmonton Strathcona's NDP MP Heather McPherson to ask that federal health transfers be withheld from Albertans because she disagrees with the Premier. No level of disagreement justifies threats to Albertans' healthcare funding, especially during a pandemic.

Welcome aboard Ryan, and thank you for the support! I'm looking forward to tackling those big issues in Edmonton Strathcona. Let's get to work and make it happen!

Rick Peterson 01.10.2020

Thank you Andy for the support! The path forward means creating a plan to help everyone get ahead. Let's get to work!

A visit to the Connaught Armoury in Edmonton Strathcona brings back memories of my grandfather and a special salute to Canadian sacrifice and heroism in France that stays with me forever. Lest we forget.

Edmonton Strathcona MP Heather McPherson called the WE Charity a "disgusting organization and the absolute opposite of a good organization for international development in the House of Commons. If that’s the case, why did she vote against further investigating the WE scandal? Rooting out corruption should be a priority for all of us. The NDP standing by this corrupt government is simply unacceptable.

Can we lean on the private sector to help fix our national childcare shortage? I think we can, if the incentives are right. For my take on how to fix childcare, without a bloated and bureaucratic national childcare policy, check out my op-ed in Policy Options: https://policyoptions.irpp.org//corporate-canada-needs-to/

Working Moms in Edmonton Strathcona and all across Canada have been sidelined by the COVID-19 pandemic. This has been devastating for family finances and for the economy as a whole. We need to get working Moms and Dads, who are now at home because of child care shortages, back to work. The NDP Member of Parliament for Edmonton Strathcona is calling for a national daycare strategy. So is the Liberal government. ... Both are wrong. Here's a much better, quicker and more reliable way to get this done. https://policyoptions.irpp.org//corporate-canada-needs-to/

Getting ready for a few days of duck hunting next week and over the Thanksgiving long weekend. I dropped in to the Phoenix Indoor Range and Gunshop in Edmonton Strathcona this afternoon to pick up a few things and had a great chat with Matthew. Huge shout-out and thanks for his help, great service and support. If you're a firearms owner, or would like to learn more about becoming one, these guys are amazing.

Thrilled to announce that two very bright, young professionals with strong business, community and political experience have joined our Edmonton Strathcona Conservative nomination campaign as Co-chairs. Kathleen Brayford and Michael Stuart will be amazing ambassadors and spokespeople for our campaign, bringing energy and new ideas while helping expand our ability to reach out, listen and learn.
