With winter now upon us, lots of opportunities for staying active outdoors are reemerging. While fatbiking is still a huge winter go to, sliding over snow - be that x-country or ski touring - is a great way to mix things up and work different parts of the body and brain. Although a little late for the fresh corduroy, I was grateful to get out for this quick burn at @oakfieldgolf last night. That’s a wrap. Tonight concludes our fall women’s intro sessions. After 4-weeks of learning new skills and putting them to use out on the trails, this crew was all smiles. And they should be. When you move from gravel paths all the way through to the granite of the @mcintoshrun trail network in only 4 weeks, you know you’ve made some progress. Way to go gang! This morning we wrapped up the first of two 4-week women’s intro clinics we’ve been hosting this fall in Halifax. Over these past 4 weeks, I’ve had the pleasure of working with two groups of very motivated women to improve their skills and proficiency out on the trails. I’ve watched both groups steadily improve - building their skills, confidence and stoke. So stoked in fact that they’ve formed a Facebook group currently called the Halifax Women’s Mountain Bike League. If you’re looking to connect and ride with other women in an inclusive and supportive environment, check them out. Another shot from last week’s road trip through #themaritimes. This one at #robinsonsisland in #pei. I’ve since returned to the Island with my family and rode the Robinson’s Island trails with my 10 yo nephew and 9, 7, and 5yo sons. We had a ball sessioning the features and taking in the views. If you’re looking for a fun mountain bike adventure for the whole family, consider Robinson’s Island in the #BrackleyBeach area of #PEI. It’s suitable to all levels and is a great spot for picnics and views.
