Ride Like an Athlete 06.01.2021

January course has officially started! My last two days have been filled with back to back zoom calls, tailoring the course materials to each athlete’s specific needs. I absolutely loved connecting with so many eager and motivated athletes, but I will fully admit it was exhausting spending all day cross legged on my mat. So when nobody is looking, this is what I am doing. Lol. The 2-3 minutes between when I open the zoom meeting and when my participant joined, was the perfec...t time for movement or stretching. Practicing what I preach really kept me going! There are still lots of spots left for the session starting February 15th. Link is in the bio and you absolutely can flood my inbox with questions if you are on the fence.

New Years. It’s that time of year that gyms fill and your news feed is filled with programs and miracle weight loss remedies. We buy into the hype. I know I know, my program is also coming out in the new year. No it wasn’t an accident, I did want to catch you when you were receptive to the idea of having me in your life it also worked out really well with my natural schedule thanks to ride season being a solid 5 months away. Lol. Like you I need to fill my winters with som...ething I love and keep me moving forward! Here’s my deal though. I’m not selling you a weight loss course. I have spent a lot of time worrying about keeping or losing weight to fit in a weight division, and frankly it’s not fun and it doesn’t excite me. What does excite me is helping riders feel good. Helping them be more balanced in the saddle. Helping them ride longer. Helping them prepare better and find tools to aid their recovery. Helping them focus more on what excites them than what their body looks like. That’s what excites me. I definitely believe that once you find your joy in movement and aren’t in pain, weight loss will happen, but for me it’s treating the cause vs the symptom. Then the next time you look at your body in the mirror, thinking of all the wonderful things that body has done for you and think wow I helped build that. That’s the kind of positivity I want I’m your life. If you want to join in the program, February spots are still available. Yes you have to wait for the program, but I will be sending you some freebies in the meantime to keep you motivated. https://www.ridelikeanathlete.org/ Cheers! #equestrianathlete #equestrian #equestrianlife #equestrianfitness #ridelikeanathlete #fitridercourse #equestriangoals #equestrianmotivation #equestrianpositivity #enduranceriding #ridebetter #newyear #fitfam #fittoride #fitnessmotivation #newyearsresolution #resolutions

Are you making a resolution this year? I’m not. Hear me out here. Let’s take a look at the word resolution, defined by Merriam Webster: : the act of finding an answer or solution to a conflict, problem, etc. : the act of resolving something. : an answer or solution to something. ... As we come into a new year, setting a resolution already starts us out in a negative mindset. A resolution starts with focusing your failures of the past. Is that really the way to get a fresh start? And don’t get me started on 2020! Instead let’s focus on what excites us. Let whatever happened to you in 2020 GO! What excites you for this new year? What inspires you? Work with forward progress rather than try and fix the past. It’s funny, New Years is actually a pretty arbitrary date in the calendar. I was remarking the other day, wouldn’t it make more sense to change years on the solstice? Regardless, the day you feel inspired and open to new possibilities is the day to get started. Make it jan 1 if that works for you! For me it’s when the ride calendar gets posted/finalized. I’m seeing a lot of people asking about weight loss and fitness programs this time of year. It’s no accident I planned mine around the new year. Beyond the clear marketing benefits, this time of year is great to sit down and talk goals and train indoors to get the grunt work out of the way leaving ride season open for fun. So no resolution, just goals for me. What excites me for this coming year? Building my web courses so I can help more people feel good in and out of the saddle. Sharing my energy a d experience with others. Helping more riders get to their first endurance ride. So what’s exciting you for 2021?
