Jesse Melamed is no stranger to hard work and dedication. He’s been a consistent top contender on the EWS circuit for years. This season his dedication to the craft, hard work and consistency came together to land him at the top of the podium. Jesse has a huge support base here in Whistler, as well as around the world. When we put out a call for submissions for this project, we had a flood of friends, family, sponsors, and fellow racers submit doodles, notes, and congratulatory messages. We designed, printed and installed a custom wrap on Jesse’s EWS winning bike that featured all the submissions. Then we delivered the bike to Jesse. When Santa Cruz Bicycles donated two Santa Cruz Heckler E-Bikes to the Whistler Off Road Cycling Association (WORCA), we were asked if we would like to get involved and donate a couple Tailored Protection Kits. Of course we did, but we also decided the wrap could feature some design and wording that could function as a "trail under construction" sign to alert approaching riders. It also made us think about how pretty much every trail builder seems to be using E-Bikes rather than hike or moto into their projects. We reached out to trail builders from around the globe to see what their thoughts are on E-Bikes when used for trailbuiding and got some very interesting feedback.
