Right at Home ReDesigns

I hope this post finds you all well, safe, and healthy. As some of you know, I moved (two years ago) into a full time position in another area of passion and knowledge, as a full-time General Manager in the arts and community with the City of Prince Albert. I want to thank each and every client for making this entrepreneurial adventure a great success. Importantly, I am blessed by the clients and businesses with whom I've had the privilege to provide designs for in this pas...t decade. When I started this business in the year my family and I made Prince Albert our home (2007), a few people told me it wouldn't fly, that Prince Albert wasn't "ready" for it, that there wouldn't be enough demand. Contrary to that negative warning, this business was incredibly successful for more than 10 years, and flourished here. There have been so many incredible clients who have made an impact on me, and so many different, astounding people who opened their homes and businesses to me during this decade of work. Our homes are sacred spaces, our business spaces shape our work and productivity. Prince Albert has incredible people, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to see it from the vantage point I did when I first arrived. There are such dedicated businesses here who take pride in serving our community. There are amazing people in this city who take pride in their homes, and in making their home a true reflection of them who, in turn, provide opportunities for businesses to work with them. There are many clients who I now count as friends, for which I am so grateful. I am amazed by the contractors and talented people in the construction business with whom I've shared work, laughter, stresses, and pride. I have procrastinated in officially closing this business, because it's never been just a business. I took down my website today, and will archive this page in a week. It's been an astounding opportunity to get to know the city, the people who create that community, and the pride that went along with each improvement in the homes and businesses into which I was invited. I will still try to work with those faithful, returning clients because I truly miss this work and the people. I will always encourage people to shop local, because we have so much to offer in our community. All the very best to everyone at this time. I won't be away forever, because I believe that our environment truly shapes who we are, and I'm so proud of working with people to make their environments, homes, spaces, a reflection of who they are. Finally, make your space your own important refuge. Never has this been more important than when we've been spending so much time in our homes. Unapologetically, make it yours. Great healing can also come for many by changing and redefining your space. Much love and respect to you. I can never communicate how much joy this work has brought me. In the last week, Right at Home has had the privilege of consulting on an amazing 60s home renovation, a 70s home transformation, and an incredible Hunting Lodge project! Next week I am doing colour consultations and furniture sourcing! Love the people I get to meet, and the excitement this creates for clients. So grateful to do this job!

Nothing like a 10 hour design day with a bunch of great clients! It was rewarding to see them so excited about the choices I brought them and to see them creating a space that reflects them. Spring is a great time of year for change!
