Fun in the Sun Day was a hit! Who doesn't love homemade fruit popsicles and a sprinkler party?

Our Preschoolers are exploring the Ocean and did large group art pieces yesterday that our Teachers hung this morning. It's beautiful and there is so much learning in tackling a group art project for the students in the class.

Our littlest students are immersed in learning about animals; sounds, different textures of fur, songs, rhymes and more. So much fun!

Beautiful salt sensory for our Sr Preschool kids in the afternoon session today. Thank you Ms Morgan! At a young age, when we present aesthetically appealing set ups for children's learning experiences, we teach children to have appreciation for the beauty in art, materials and nature.

We are an Accredited center with a high caliber Teacher team. We have an emergent child center curriculum founded in the AB Flight program and High Scope. All of our employees are Senior Teachers or in the process of attending school to achieve that certification. . . .Our curriculum is robust, age appropriate and intentional. Our Toddlers love art and today was a fine motor literacy activity. The children were given a selection of stickers to decorate the letter "L" with. Each child decorated theirs differently and beautifully.

A part of our daily curriculum, in all classrooms, is arts and crafts. Today our Preschool class is working on a craft related to thier learning interest. These activites build thier creative thinking skills, facilitate thier individual expression of ideas, and build thier confidence as they create unique beautiful works of art appreciated by those around them and hung in the classrooms.

When children engage in play with loose parts it's amazing to see what they do. The materials meet them at exactly where they are developmentally and support thier learning. A young child might squish the blocks and toss them to see how they bounce. In this picture the child is using symbolic play to construct a train. The next level of play incorporates imaginative play where there is a deeper story line and use of the materials, which starts at around age 3. In all our classrooms we have a wide variety of age appropriate open ended loose parts to support high quality learning through play, for the children at our center.

A perfect day for Mud Kitchen play in the natural park we back onto. Our Teachers designed this lovely set up, loaded it in a wagon and everyone took a walk to the perfect spot! In the spring and summer we try to do as many activites outside as possible.

Our Toddlers are exploring colors right now, which has led into a Paint Shop in our dramatic play area!

Nature sensory exploration continues. What does a pine cone feel like, is it rough or smooth? Does the sand stick to it? Is it hot or cold? What happens when you drag the stick in the sand?
