Legacy gifts donations made through estate planning - are an amazing way of allowing a person who is no longer with us to still show that they care. This is true for the Foundation and the Kamloops YMCA YWCA with the amazing donation from Joan Wilson of $100,000, left to each organization in her will. Joan was an empathetic role model in the Kamloops community and was recognized for her charity work. Even though Joan is gone, her legacy of giving back to the community will continue through her donations. She will be remembered by all those who knew and loved her. Did you know that in 2012, Canada became the first country to officially permanently recognize National Philanthropy Day? Other countries have since followed our model. In the buildup to today, we shared some wonderful stories of donors who have been very kind and generous. Today, we would like to thank all of our donors; it is because of ALL of you that we can help equip the hospital and the health care team with the equipment, technology and tools they need to enhance care and treatment options for our region. Whether you contribute to the Blazers’ Teddy Bear Toss, donate during our yearly Radiothon, or participate as a sponsor or donor in our many events, your donation makes a positive difference. We are truly thankful! #gratefulinkamloops #nationalphilanthropyday
