ARTISTIC PHOTOS OF THE NEW FENCE AND CEMETERY - BY DAVID OWENS. Amazing shots taken late afternoon of August 29/20. David's beautiful tribute to the volunteers and, even more so, to the children.

THE PAINTING IS FINISHED! The painting of the new cemetery fence was completed today - August 29/20, by a dozen volunteers, including two young people, Ghett ("Jet") and Kingston Mucha, the daughter and son of Stacey and Derek Mucha. When we add in Stacey's sister, Rena Kim, and their parents, Gordon and Mary Blondeau, it was pretty much a family affair. Three of the other painters were Palliative Care Workers, as is Rena: Shannon Goldstone, Janice Fischer and Pam Bailey. Also joining in the effort were Bob Bailey, Lindsay Hill (a repeat performer) and Bill Wall. Thanks to all our volunteers! At mid-morning a CTV reporter, Donovan Maess, arrived and conducted interviews with Stacey and Bill. The report will be aired on the 6 p.m. CTV news on the 29th and then it will be added to the Regina CTV News videos. https://regina.ctvnews.ca/

PAINTING BEE BY STAFF OF INDIGENOUS SERVICES. On Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 26, a group of eight volunteers from the Department of Indigenous Services braved the heat to begin applying a coat of exterior latex to the cemetery fence. Led by Stacey Mucha, an IS employee and former board member of the Commemorative Association, the crew of 8 worked until late afternoon - apparently enjoying themselves - and completed half of the area to be done (another crew has been recruit to finish the job on the 29th). The participants were Stacey Mucha, Trevor Linford, Brett LeBlond, Judy Whitequill, Andrew Keim, Lindsay Hill, Drew Reynoldson and Sherry Daniels. Much thanks!

SHOUT OUT TO HUNDSETH POWER LINE CONSTRUCTION. The new RIIS cemetery fence would never have got off the ground - or into the ground - without the amazing generosity of the Hundseth Power Line Construction Company. Last September they drilled the nearly 60 holes - without charge - required for the posts that would form the structure for all that would come after. A wonderful gift to the Commemorative Association and to the community.
