Best terms pricing developed when multiple insurers would each agree to submit their own bid to carry a portion of the total risk related to insuring a strata property but the final premium paid by strata owners would usually be based on the highest of those bids, even if the majority of quotes were lower.

Effective November 30, 2020, Any time an application is made to register an interest in land in BC’s land title register, a transparency declaration must be filed. Existing reporting bodies with an interest in land will need to file an initial transparency report by November 30, 2021. ... Once the Act is operational, individuals and entities who directly or indirectly hold beneficial interests in British Columbia land will be required to disclose specific information such as Full name, date of birth, social insurance number, tax number, location of principal residence, and whether they are a Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada or neither.
