H...ome Support Workers are comprised of predominantly females, these ESSENTIAL SERVICE WORKERS have been undervalued and underpaid for far too long...now we are asking them to take care of our most vulnerable and they are doing it. Our Government must support this sector quickly...the federal government is really stepping up with support for families during this difficult time. While the $2000/month is amazing it is also more than a Home Support Worker earns in a month, this is quickly becoming a disincentive to continue working. Please advocate for home care workers...we absolutely need you to continue to work...if you dont our hospitals will become overwhelmed. Home care workers we need you more than ever. See more

Firstly, we want to thank all of our care givers for the amazing job they are doing during this time of uncertainty! It is imperative that we continue with all of the recommended processes put in place by the health care authorities & our government. We know there is an overwhelming amount of change . As you do your very best to take care of everyone around you, please remember the importance of taking care of yourself. Responding to a pandemic is challenging & stress prevent...ion and management is critical for everyone to stay well and be able to function during these times. At Rileys, we highly recommend incorporating a regular self care practice into your day to each and every one of our caregivers, and our clients. Here are some ideas for you to try that can help you with your emotional well being during times of uncertainty. - Talk to family, friends & supervisors about your feelings and experiences. - Practice breathing and relaxation techniques. - Maintain a healthy diet and get adequate sleep and exercise. - Know that it is okay to draw boundaries and say no. Remember, taking time for yourself is not selfish. You need to recharge so that you can continue to do your best for yourself and your family! Stay safe & thank you for all you do!

If you know anyone who works on the f...rontline, please feel free to direct them to this group I am hoping that all of you can help us by reaching out to your respective communities to gather the e-mail addresses of your local grocery stores, hardware stores, healthcare services, regional police, convenience stores, gas stations, pharmacies, and any other essential or frontline services. If you already have these contacts in your area, that is even better. Please forward me the contact information (email addresses) of frontline and essential services in your area as soon as you have the chance.
