Nov 11th was a battle on the Ice for two U14B Bowview teams.. but it was a Battle to give back as well. Two competing teams gathered together to join forces and get as many Donations together for the Veterans Association Food Bank. We Stuffed a Truck with so many donations that the Veterans Association was Blown away. And as Coaches we were as well.. the 26 girls did amazing to get the donations.... A Tie on the Ice but Worst Nightmare battled to get the most donations but It was mostly all about giving back to the Veterans on Nov 11th. #ringettecalgary #bowviewringette

The U19B teams NW Tigers and BV Journey, collected 8 Rubbermaid containers for the veterans food bank! They also wore poppy stickers on their helmets and had a moment of silence before their game. #ringettecalgary #calgarynwringette #bowviewringette

NW U19B Strive’s emergency fill-in goalie (a defence player that hasn’t played goalie in five years!) had some technical difficulties during their game with South Calgary’s U19B Elite. The SC Elite goalie stepped in to help fix the straps, and the game went on. Working together through these strange times, makes it easier on everyone.

We received this wonderful note from a parent of one of our young officials and wanted to share it with you. Let’s keep the encouragement going! ~~ Ringette is rolling despite the Covid challenges. It's great to see the kids back having fun on This ice. my daughter Is young and started reffing some games last year - enjoys it, wants to grow and develop. In some cases she is doing her best to manage games solo.... I want to acknowledge the teams, coaches, and parents for being so supportive. She is engaging in a challenging situation and trying her best. We keep saying ‘it's a development year’, and that goes for officials too. After each game, several parents will give a word of encouragement to her, thank her, and appreciate her for being there so their kids can play. One time, parents clapped and cheered when she arrived. It's awesome! I wanted to let you know how thankful I am as a parent, and pleased with how the folks in this cohort are taking up a unique situation.

Thank you for all your dedication to our sport! I’m sure that this wasn’t an easy decision to make, but ultimately the right one.
