Rescuing sentimental rings makes us really happy we hope you feel the same! Holly wears rings that she has received from special people in her life every day. When she arrived at the hospital needing to have surgery, she knew it would be difficult to get her rings off as they are very tight and she always has trouble removing them. When the nurses found out that they were stuck, they immediately called the Ring King, Darryl, to assist. Darryl was able to use our compression... device to aid in removing the rings safely and intact, first try! Holly said she was in shock that it worked so well and that she wasn’t in any pain or anything. It went very smoothly. Darryl noted that due to the downward design on the ring shown, he positioned the device so that the point would be aligned with the crease in the bladder to ensure he was compressing the finger, not the ring. Check back next week for an Expert Advice video explaining this more! We were so glad that our compression device could play a part in keeping Holly’s valuable rings intact.

Not all rings look the same, and when it comes to removing stuck rings, the way you should position our compression device isn’t always the same either! In the image on the left there is no ring so that you can clearly see one of the creases in the bladder of the device (there are three). In the image on the right, you can see that the device is positioned so that the crease of the bladder lines up with the diamond on the ring. This is done to ensure the areas of compression are against the finger and not against the ring. This trick also works with rings that have points or other unique designs to ensure the finger is getting maximum compression and the bladder won’t be punctured by the ring! Remember - the compression device should be placed close, but not over the ring!

Yet another happy success story for us to share! Sarah, Mom of 4 boys, recently woke up with a swollen hand. Her husband, an orthopaedic surgeon, recognized that it was cellulitis and recommended she head to the ER. Cellulitis is a skin infection that often causes an area of skin to swell, become red and is typically painful and warm to the touch. Sarah was heartbroken at the thought of having her wedding ring cut. She had never taken it off since she married her husband 15 ...years ago, not even during her pregnancies, so it was very important to her to keep the ring intact. Sarah’s ring is a beautiful eternity band with diamonds around the entire ring, and she knew if it had to be cut off, it would likely be unfixable. Once in the ER, Sarah’s doctor applied the Ring Rescue compression device to her finger to decrease the swelling. Sarah said once the device was removed, literally with the snap of the fingers my ring came off, I was amazed. She said not only was she impressed with how well the device worked, but the medical professionals in the room were also happily surprised with how effective the device was. Sarah said she experienced no discomfort while the device was applied and expressed great appreciation for having her eternity band removed safely and without any damage! The first image shows Sarah's hand before the compression device was applied, the second shows how much swelling was reduced after the device was removed, and finally, the third shows Sarah's ring after it had been successfully removed intact!
