Literally how we fell asleep last night

Happy Holidays!! It's been a wild year for all of us, and I'm thankful everyday that we have our fitness, and our team to help us daily with working at what's important during unprecedented times like this covid thing. Even before 2019, we were in need a drastic re-commitment to our programs and nutrition. That's why we are so excited for our new program. It's just what we need to jump start ourselves to get back to our peak healthy state. ... 9 weeks, 30 ish min a day, lots of extra stretch, circuit, tabata, and core work to make us stronger! I'm excited to compile our list of challengers and get this program started in a couple weeks! Are you in??

Just finished my 8th run in just over 2 weeks. I posted before about how I'm learning to run for Nya's sake and so that she can burn off energy before being home alone for the day. And that was true... at the start... but this morning, running as the sun was slowly rising, I realized how good it feels to push and do something hard. Especially first thing in the morning (hello setting the day up for success!)... It's a lot like our fitness group. The whole benefit for me ,when I started it, was to keep myself accountable to someone else, so that it wasn't just me motivating myself, which often lead quitting in the past. I had others i was trying to inspire to pick up a weight, do some cardio, stretch a bit more, drink more water, eat a bit better.... So putting it in my head that I'm doing this for Nya, while it is still true, got me to the point where I feel the benefits of doing it for me and want to continue for my own benefit.

I woke up this morning thinking I didn't want to run. It's 3C and I won't do that good. But Nya had other plans... she kept me accountable because as soon and... the harness goes on, she wants to run. So we did the first day of our brand new running program...over a week before I said I would start. My trainer was in my headset the whole time, coaching me, guiding me and making me stay on task. And she said something that resonated... It's ok to be a beginner. Boom! Hit me hard and totally dissolved my early morning self argument. I am a beginner at running. I've always been decent a very short sprints, but endurance, long distances, it's all new to me. So I'm taking a puff to clear my lunges and reminding you that its OK to be new at something, to not be amazing at it. Doing it is the only way you'll get better.

I'm not a runner. But that doesn't mean I can learn to be one. Nya can learn to run more politely with me too Today, I decided to sample our soon to be released running program. It was a 20 minute audio that coached me to run different intervals. This is actually working out great. Time management in the mornings has been tough and the dog needs a good walk before sleeping all day. Combine all that with my vertigo issues and burpees and bending tend to not be great. ... So getting a wicked workout in, trying something new, that really challenged me, and got my baby girl doing something she loves (moving fast) is a win all around!! The best part is on the super fast sprint portions, Nya pulls me ... considerably.
