There’s good truth in this.
Love a nicely groomed ring! .
Wishing everyone a Very Happy New Year! Stay home and stay safe!
There has been discussion about riding lessons during the pandemic. We now have confirmation that while an equestrian facility is permitted to be open for the c...are of animals, (including allowing owners who rent space to come onto the property to ride, feed or care for the horses), the facility is not permitted to provide lessons or training, or facility rentals. Segments of the public order such as section 75 are intended for educational type instructions, such as math or English tutoring. You may continue to offer training online or through other remote means, but for safety this does not include mounted lessons. See more
Are you worried about feeding beet pulp to your horse because you heard it may expand in the horse's stomach and cause colic? No need to fear. Beet pulp's exce...llent digestibility actually makes it a useful addition to the diet of many types of horses especially "hard keepers" that need to gain weight, horses with dental problems, convalescing horses, and geriatric horses who have trouble chewing or digesting other types of forage. Because beet pulp is really a fiber supplement, not a grain, you can safely feed as much as you like; just be sure to start with a small quantity and GRADUALLY INCREASE the amount you’re feeding. Read more about feeding beet pulp on our website at https://aaep.org/horsehealth/feeding-beet-pulp. As always, consult your veterinarian for more information and to determine if beet pulp is a good choice for your horse!
Despite the ground being white and the air being chilly, the sunrise was absolutely gorgeous.
It’s not just about wearing a helmet when you ride, it’s about wearing the RIGHT helmet. You can’t put a price on safety!
Such a great essay from this young rider. It saddens me to hear what these kids think when they compare themselves to others. It’s kids like Mitike that will inspire others like her. .
I can't emphasize this enough. It may be hard to keep emotions and feelings away while riding, I'm only human as well, but it's very important you train yourself not to allow your emotions to interfere with what you're doing on the back of a horse. Staying calm and patient will get you farther!
This is precisely what I do with every horse I ride. Keep their brains busy and keep them focussed on me and never at what they think may be scary. You allow them to look at what they think is scary and you reinforce to them it is scary. Circle and encourage more bend, shoulder in or get haunches in, get their brain active and focussed on the job. Before you know it, those scary things outside of the ring become non existent.
We don't do it for the glory, we do it for the taking part, for the horse, for the life. We do it because it's who we are. We do it because we're equestrians, ...and we're in this together. We do it #ForTheLoveOfEquestrian. Why do you do it #ForTheLoveOfEquestrian? Watch the full video here https://bit.ly/ForTheLoveOfEquestrianFB
Happy Canada Day . Play safe and have fun.
So there’s 3-phases to hay season. Cutting, baling, & stacking. Ok maybe 4 with raking before baling. Lol. But the 3 that come to my mind are Excitement, Hatred, & Rewarding. It’s kind of a love/hate relationship when you have to hand bomb it under your hay shed.
As a stable owner this is always a pretty site.
Slowly but surely, we are getting there.
Staying safe on this nice Peaceful morning. Finally not blown away with the bitter north wind
