So many tomatoes just on the cusp of ripening! Oh well they can come inside and ripen in cold storage so can have yummy tomatoes for awhile yet.
I might have left harvesting the garden a wee bit too long.....
Lol it is the scariest time of month again! Coop cleaning and new bedding are so scary! The clean shavings are out to kill them.......
Oops I might have forgotten the green peppers in the freezer that were on trays waiting to be packaged..... twelve two cup bags and three large bags of strips are vacuum sealed and back in the freezer.
Dinner tonight is stuffed peppers with tomatoes stewed in the drippings. So delicious
Onyx and I had a great time at Minnow Lake today.
A tasty harvest from the garden tonight, the best salad is a fresh one picked moments before. I highly suggest Dwarf Blue Curly Kale has a much milder taste than other varieties and so far seems to be not as popular with our local cabbage moths.
Gorgeous sky today. The birds are enjoying the cooler weather
Onyx is such a sweetheart!
It was time to prune back the nasturtiums as they really really were not liking the heat and lack of water. We were on a stage 4 (no outside water except for livestock) restriction last week and a lot of my plants suffered. The new raised bed suffered the least except for the nasturtiums and the last of the lettuce everything did pretty well. I harvested a large bowl of leaves to dehydrate and the rest is going to the chickens which they love! The pile beside the bowl is only half the amount I took off the plants today.
Swim ducky swim!
Lovely walk with the dogs!
Harvested some lovely looking Kohlrabi and Turnips for dinner tonight.
This hen and I have the same ritual every morning when I collect eggs, she says no I say yes.
