Anxiety can feel overwhelming.#anxietyisreal Most of us have experienced ANXIETY at least once in our life situations, such as, interviewing for a new job, taking an exam or even unpredictable scenarios like being in a car accident. ... This 5-step Grounding Technique can be very helpful during periods of anxiety or panic attacks. By grounding your internal world to being PRESENT is the best way to calm your feelings of anxiety . Before starting this exercise, pay attention to your breathing. Slow, deep, long breaths can help you maintain a sense of calm or help you return to a calmer state. Once you find your breath, go through the following steps to help ground yourself: 5: Acknowledge FIVE things you see around you. It could be a pen, a spot on the ceiling, anything in your surroundings. 4: Acknowledge FOUR things you can touch around you. It could be your hair, a pillow, or the ground under your feet. 3: Acknowledge THREE things you hear. This could be any external sound. If you can hear your belly rumbling that counts! Focus on things you can hear outside of your body. 2: Acknowledge TWO things you can smell. Maybe you are in your office and smell pencil, or maybe you are in your bedroom and smell a pillow. If you need to take a brief walk to find a scent you could smell soap in your bathroom, or nature outside. 1: Acknowledge ONE thing you can taste. What does the inside of your mouth taste likegum, coffee, or the sandwich from lunch? #groundingtechniques #anxietytips #putyourselffirst #everyonegetanxious #calmness #manageanxiety #bepresentnow

Good Bye January... Thank you for teaching me so much about self-care and self-love "Love is not something you find in other people, its from the reservoir of self-love that you give to others. You need to look inside to see how loveable you are before you share this with others" ~ Therightmessages.com... #therightmessagescom #lovemyself #selfcare #selflove #WhatILearnedToday #mentalhelathawareness #byejanuary #HelloFeb

Finally FRIDAY is HERE! Let's talk about self-love and specifically, self-care #YouMatterMost #selfcare #selflove ... To focus on yourself is NOT selfish. RDC Wellness is gently reminding you that it is so important to love yourself, take care of yourself, and to make your happiness a priority. YES, it's necessary. How we care for ourselves gives our brain messages that shape our self-worth so we must care for ourselves in every way, every day. Don't you agree?? #selfworthfirst #mentalhealthmatters #letstalkaboutmentalhealth #happiness #TGIF #selfcarechallenge #letsdoit #ilovemyself
