Fall 2001 vs Sept 2020 RiverEdge Golf Club opened in the summer of 1999, designed by John F. Robinson (Whistle Bear GC/2000, Settlers’ Ghost GC/2004) under the direction of owners Peter & Daryl Gates. A great alternative to 18 holes, this hidden gem has a championship attitude committed to providing a feel-good outing. Set along the Grand River the property consists of 90 acres; with 50 acres used for golf, 25 acres of protected wetlands & forest and another 15 acres along the river bank. RiverEdge Golf Club was purchased by GolfNorth in 2017, and is run as a public facility. 9-hole green fees in 1999 were $24.00, and still a value today at $27.00. A big thank you to all our RiverEdge Ambassadors! We appreciate your hard work this season and commitment to keeping everyone safe. If you are a Thursday regular you are already familiar with Bob Fraser, one of our long-standing team members, Bob started as an Ambassador in 2005. In addition to his regular shifts, Bob is always quick to volunteer his time whenever we are in need. He takes great pride in keeping RiverEdge looking its best and starts every shift walking the parking lot picking up after the litterbugs. When Bob is not at RiverEdge you will most likely find him canoeing the Grand or observing the local bird species. Bob, thank you for all your contributions to RiverEdge over the years!

George Weiberg is our second-longest tenured Ambassador and has been with us for 15 years. George is a former Kitchener Ranger (drafted by the NY Rangers). He then played senior hockey with the Preston Jesters and is still skating circles around the competition in his weekly pickup games. Thank you George! A very special shoutout to RiverEdge’s longest serving team member, Martha Stauch has been assisting golfers at RiverEdge since 2000. After starting the season with us, she had to take a short sabbatical in July. Martha, we look forward to having you back in 2021. Thank you for 20 great years!

The Tricky 7th: This short par 5 (417yrd- White) requires accuracy: Take on as much of the wetlands as you dare to a narrow landing area, leaving you with an iron into the green. Or play a safer tee shot; giving you the option of laying up to your favorite wedge or going for the green with a longer 2nd shot. Green is protected by a bunker on the right and wetlands/trees to the left & long.
