February 14 marks the #WomensMemorialMarch, honouring the Missing or Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. Here is a piece we have displayed made by Lynda Dennill honouring the Highway of Tears. Indigenous women are six times more likely to be murdered than non-Indigenous. The Province issued a statement today that read, ... "In order to improve the safety of Indigenous women, girls, two-spirit and gender diverse peoples throughout the province, we must tackle the long-standing inequities in our systems and institutions that stop them from getting support when they are victimized at home, in their communities or at work." Let us all endeavour to create a safe place for helping to address these inequalities in our communities.

In 2021, we look forward to seeing those who have utilized the Centre this year again. We also look forward to connecting with more of our incredible community members in the new year (and years!) to come. Remember, we have free WiFi, visitors booth services (so you can prepare to explore our part of beautiful British Columbia) and are a home to several West Boundary services. See you again on January 6th!
