MENISCUS (CARTILAGE) INJURIES: The meniscus (plural: menisci) is a "C" shaped "shock absorber" which lies between the thigh bone (femur) and the shin bone (tibia)- one on either side of the knee. Injuries to the menisci often result in pain and swelling in the knee, as well as movement disorder. Many patients report that the affected knee catches, locks, or gives way.... Sunday Nelly is a highly qualified, very experienced and friendly physiotherapist. He qualified as a physiotherapist 23 years ago (in 1997), and he has experience working in four different countries, three continents and many cities and towns around the world. He is an accomplished physiotherapist. Sunday graduated in Nigeria and worked there for three years before proceeding to Botswana in Southern Africa where he also worked for three years. From Botswana, he was recruited to the Republic of Ireland where he did a lot of work in complex neuro-musculoskeletal conditions. He also found the time to study for, and obtained a Master of Science degree in Primary Healthcare from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2006. He was in Ireland for 11 years. Sunday was recruited by Alberta Health Services from Ireland, and worked in Valleyview for 6 years at the Health centre as a Senior Physiotherapist. Dear All, I hope that you are all keeping safe and enjoying the warmer weather as we all begin to take tentative steps back to 'normality'. We have begun to take patients back into the clinic slowly in order to provide in-person physiotherapy treatment. However, and contrary to our policy over the years, we might not be able to see everyone with the same immediacy that you have been used to. There could be a wait time of few days as we open fully and our schedule gradually re...turns to normal. This is because as we all know, the coast is not quite clear yet, and there is a need to be vigilant, measured and cautious. We ask for your understanding. We are currently putting in place some measures to ensure the safety of everyone who comes into the clinic. We ask that you please bear with us if we ask you more questions than normal about your health history, etc. We also request that our clients kindly use a face mask when you come in for consultations and /or treatments. This is all to ensure the health and safety of us all. We will also be flexible and accommodate those who for various reasons, want a mixture of telerehab and in-person treatments. With the common sense approach that our Communities have shown over the last 7 weeks or so, we are sure that we will win the fight against COVID-19. COVID-19 Updates: telerehab (Remote treatment), etc. Dear All, We hope that you are doing well.... We are using this medium to update you on how we are responding to COVID-19 in a deliberate, measured and professional way to ensure a continuity of care for all of our clients - whatever their situation: 1. We have found a way to create more 'between-patient' intervals so that our reception areas at our respective locations are not clustered while patients are waiting to be seen by their physiotherapist. 2. For patients who may be experiencing signs of illness like cold or the common flu, and who still need to be treated for their musculoskeletal conditions, we are putting in place a secured and encrypted technology that meets the Standards of the Physiotherapy Alberta College + Association (PACA), as well as the Canadian Association of Physiotherapists (CPA). 3. We are increasing the frequency of our cleansing and disinfecting measures around the entrance door handle, to the receptionist desk, to the beds, the washroom and all high traffic areas in all our locations. 4.Please do your bit: inform us if you feel unwell, please call to cancel or postpone or email us if you think you might have been exposed to COVID-19 directly or via contact with someone who might have been exposed to it.
