A cheque for $2041.44 was presented to the Food Depot Alimentaire today. The recent drive thru roast beef dinner received product donations from the food depot, and the rest of the food expenses were covered by the Riverview Lions club, resulting in all funds raised going to the local food banks! Hearing that the Poppy Campaign is struggling this year due to COVID-19 we decided to do what we can and donate $500. We want to challenge other service organizations, businesses and individuals to donate what they can. Take some extra change next time you visit your local corner store for the poppy collection bin. Donations collected during the Poppy Campaign are used to directly support Veterans and their families within their community and to help ensure Canadians ‘never forget’. Riverview Lions Club is having a drive thru Rib dinner Friday, October 30, 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm Help support a great cause just by eating a yummy rib dinner that includes 1/4 Rack of ribs, cheesy baked potatoes, baked beans, corn bread and dessert - for just $20, all proceeds going to the Riverview Boys and Girls Club. Tonight, President Ken Preston, presented Mayor Ann Seamans with a cheque for $5000. This is the third installment, of a $25,000 commitment from the Riverview Lions, towards the updating of the Lion Ken Gabby Community pool. The Lions would like to thank the Town of Riverview for the amazing work done on the pool!
