We will be having the men’s night information night and draft on Thursday, April 28th. The information night will start at 6 pm, with registration and the draft to follow. The clubhouse will be offering a Draft Night Special it will be the Riverview Burger + Riverview Pint for $16.00, feel free to come early and have a beer and a bite to eat, or enjoy a burger while we are going over everything. We will begin the information night at 6, where we will explain how the men’s n...ight will work, the format, as well as answer any questions you may have. After we have gone over everything we will have members pay the league fees and non-members may purchase their men’s night memberships at this time. Once we have everyone registered who would like to do so we will draft the teams and we will be set to start our Men’s night the week after. We look forward to seeing you all there! HAPPY THANKSGIVING FROM EVERYONE AT RIVERVIEW GOLF CLUB! It has been a rollercoaster of a year for all of us. We were open one day, closed the next, laying off staff then calling them back shortly thereafter, putting up pop-up patios and tents, implementing exemption programs, etc...all to make sure we could stay open and keep our golfers and guests safe. As we reflect on all of the ups and downs, we know that we also have a lot to be grateful for. We have the best members,... dedicated staff and volunteers, and a beautiful course located in a caring community (we also hosted our very first wedding this year)! Thank you for sticking with us and showing compassion during these unpredictable times! We are thankful! TEE TIMES: Available 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Frost delays could impact these times. CLUBHOUSE: Staff and hours are limited. We have had a positive case of COVID with one of our staff and are taking necessary precautions to ensure we can remain open but in a safe manner. Hours will once again this week be affected. Very sorry for the inconvenience. We hope everyone has a nice THANKSGIVING and see you again in 2022!

CLUBHOUSE UPDATE Starting this Monday, September 20, we will be required to ask our guests for proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative PCR/rapid test result in order to comply with Alberta’s ‘Restrictions Exemption Program’ and continue indoor dining for the remainder of the season. Single vaccination or proof of negative PCR/rapid test will be required for entry between September 20 and October 25, as long as the dose was received two weeks prior to your visit. D...ouble vaccination will be required after October 25. Proof of vaccination or test result can be provided in the following ways: Health services vaccination document Immunization records from the MyHealth Alberta app Proof of negative PCR test within 72 hours of visit Thank you once again for your patience with us during these challenging times. September 50/50 Draw Today at 3:18 PM we conducted the final 50/50 draw of the season. We had Mr. and Mrs. Gaumont, Butgereit, and Scherger as witnesses to the draw. We are proud to announce that Mr. Phil Crawford won $1303.50. Congratulations Phil.... Thank you to everyone that contributed to our monthly 50/50 draws this year (June-September) as we raised $5978 for the club. We look forward to next year when we hopefully have a longer season.

With under a month left in the season, I wanted to provide one more update to our members and guests. Monthly 50/50 draw - The September jackpot is currently at $1559. The draw date is September 30, 2020. White stakes with a black top - We have many of these new stakes around the golf course, which are used to mark areas that golf carts are NOT to drive. We ask that all carts respect these areas that are marked to help keep our course in outstanding condition.... Red stakes with a green top - These stakes are used to define environmentally sensitive areas. Please do not drive your cart in these areas. A free drop is permitted from this area. Do not play your shot within the designated area. Dogs on the golf course - We have many dog walkers on the golf course. Please note that golfers have the right of way. Additionally, many dog owners are leaving bags filled with dog excrement in the trash bins on the course. We truly appreciate that pet owners are cleaning up after their pets but we also kindly ask that all pet owners respect our Turfcare team and deposit the bags of pet waste in trash cans located outside the golf course. Cart Paths - We have a newly added cart path to the forward tees on Hole #1. Please keep the carts on this pathway to limit the soil compaction on the turf when traveling to the red tee box. We have witnessed an increased incidence of carts parking on the grass around greens, rather than leaving them on the pathways. When this happens it significantly increases the stress to the turf. We ask that all cart users make an effort to keep the carts on the pathways around the greens and tee boxes. Early Bird Memberships - We have 9 brand new members to the golf club, so far. These new members have taken advantage of the early bird membership drive. Welcome to the club! Hopefully, the weather holds out for the remainder of the year, however, we do anticipate frost delays. We have had a terrific year despite the pandemic and we anticipate that the final few weeks of the year will add to the club's success.

Five Turkey Vultures were viewed sitting on the posts behind our 16th green earlier this year. It looks like they liked the shot into the green. Thank you Gary for the picture.

The Redcliff Lions Club will be hosting a reception at the Riverview Clubhouse to honour the 2020 Redcliff Citizen of the Year, Ruth Schaffer. Date: September 23, 2020 When: 1:00 PM... Where: Riverview Clubhouse Everyone is welcome. Coffee and desserts will be served.

Good day golfers, The 2020 season is coming to a close and we were reminded when the weather turned for the worse this past week. Despite the cold, we had some brave golfers head out and play in temperatures near 2-3 Celsius. The weather is now very nice and there is still lots of golf to play this season. Tee Times - Effective September 21, 2020, the first tee time of the day is set at 8:00 AM and will move later as the daylight hours diminish. Going forward, we will most l...ikely encounter frost delays as well. Our pro shop team will send notices out to those on the tee sheet that will be affected by any frost delays. Monthly 50/50 Draw - The September 50/50 total is currently at $624 and the draw will take place on September 30. Green Fee Special - Green fees after 1 PM on Sunday to Wednesdays are only $30 for 18 holes. Shirt Sale - All shirts in the pro shop are discounted by 15%. Get your shirt while supplies last. Grips - We have a good selection of golf club grips and can re-grip your clubs. Please ask our pro shop staff for more details. Closing Date - We have set October 18, 2020, for the closing date for the course. If the weather forecast is not favourable, this date may change. We need to set a date to ensure our Turfcare team has ample time to prepare our course for the winter months. Rounds of Golf - We have had a very good year this year, over 19,500 golfers have played our course this year as of August 31. This is over 2000 rounds more than all of last year and we still have a month and a half left in the season. Our golf course is in outstanding condition, enjoy the rest of the season.

The August 50/50 draw took place today at 5:16 PM on the deck with some golfers enjoying beverages that witnessed the draw. Chloe from the restaurant generated the winning number and Jaubron Widdis from the Pro Shop verified that the winner of $1663.50 was Maxine Starkewski. Congratulations.

Good afternoon Members, The hot days of August are upon us and we have less than 2 weeks left in the month. The following is an update of recent events as well as some information for our members. Members Scramble - we held the members scramble on August 15 and from all accounts, everyone had a great time. Congratulations to our winners, the Koenig team shot a great score of 50 and won in a countback. Ted Gilchrist and Sandra Green won 4 rounds each at Lee Creek Valley Gol...f Course. Golf Ball Retrieval over the course of the next 10 days we will have divers and equipment in our ponds retrieving golf balls. The organization that will be cleaning the ponds is doing so at no charge to the course. Gift Certificates if you purchased a gift certificate during the Members Scramble please see the pro shop for payment. If you have paid, please come to the office for the certificate. Thank you for your support. Greens Jordy and his team have been busy aerating with the small tines this week. This necessary procedure will keep our greens beautiful going forward. Also, with the extreme heat, please be reminded that repairing ball marks on the greens is vital to keep our greens running smoothly. Please fix your ball mark and one additional.

Good afternoon, We hope everyone is enjoying the summer heat. On August 9, 2020, we have our first event of the year, our annual Club Championship. The field is set and the tee times will start at 8:00 AM and we would like to wish each player good luck.... August Highlights Tee Times - We have approached the mid-way point of the season and the daylight hours are now getting shorter. The last tee time for 18 holes will now be 4:50 PM. We will still have 9 hole tee times available up to 6:50 PM. We will progressively contract the tee times as the daylight hours diminish. Green Fee Special - On August 2 we started a green fee special which is in effect on Sundays to Wednesdays After 1PM. The green fee rate for 18 holes is only $30. As of today, the number of golfers taking advantage of this offer has been very good. Members Scramble - The Members Scramble scheduled for August 15, 2020, is SOLD OUT. Thank you for the outstanding response. We look forward to a great day of golf and food with friends. Turfcare Team - Our grounds team is working very hard to keep up with the hot weather. Despite the many days above 30 degrees and the winds that dry the course out, it is still in outstanding condition. We ask that each golfer ensures they give our Turfcare team the right of way on the golf course, thus if a Turfcare team member is in front of you, please ensure they wave you on before you hit. This will enable them to work in a safe manner. Additionally, we ask that if you wish to say hello or thank them for a job well done, please do so; if you have any constructive feedback please bring it to my attention in the office and I will discuss any issues with Jordy Sautner, our superintendent. Monthly 50/50 - Congratulations to Gary Haubrich, he won $1059 in the July 50/50 draw. The August 50/50 draw is currently at $390. Social Distancing - Please be reminded that it is still a requirement of the Alberta Government for individuals to social distance if they are not in the same household. We all need to do our part to keep our members and guests safe. I would also like to thank our members for their continued support. Change is never easy and the amount of change this year has been significant, however, the overwhelming support has been very much appreciated.

Good afternoon golfers, The hot summer days are upon us and in that spirit, we would like to offer golfers a discounted green fee. Effective August 2, 2020, we will have a green fee special every Sunday to Wednesday after 1 PM. The 18-hole rate will be reduced to only $30. Public golfers may book tee times 3 days in advance. We look forward to seeing you. Our course is in beautiful condition, the food is outstanding, and the service is excellent.

Good afternoon Members, We have the following events scheduled for August: Members Club Championships... I want to remind all members that are interested in playing in the Members Club Championship event that the deadline for the early-bird entry is Monday, July 27, 2020. All entries after July 27, 2020, will have an entry fee of $60. The deadline to enter the event is August 1, 2020, and we need 40 golfers to run this event we currently have 21. Members Fun Scramble Sponsored by Bice & Sons We will be hosting a members-only fun scramble on August 15, 2020. We are limiting the event to 48 golfers due to the seating restrictions in the restaurant. You may enter a team of 4 or register as a single golfer and be placed on a team. Tee times will start at 9:00 AM with the final group teeing off at 10:50 AM. When you pay your registration, please indicate your preferred tee time and we will do our best to accommodate you. Fee: $45 per player Date: August 15, 2020 Your entry fee will include golf, and a delicious burger, fries, and a salad at the conclusion of your round. We will have prizes and lots of fun for everyone. Pay your registration early as this event will definitely fill up fast.
