The Town of Riverview wishes to provide an update to residents regarding the status of municipal facilities following the decision to move Zone 1 to the orange ...level COVID-19 recovery phase. Under this phase, the following municipal facilities are affected and will be closed until further notice from midnight tonight: Coverdale Centre Bridgedale Centre Skate Park / Youth Centre Riverview Community Hall Pat Crossman Memorial Aquatic Centre Sports fields The Byron Dobson Memorial Arena Individuals or groups with events booked at the above facilities will be contacted by a member of the Parks & Recreation team. Reaching for Rainbows Daycare, which operates out of the Riverview Community Hall, will remain open. Contact: [email protected] and/or 389-1442 for additional information. For information related to the status of the Boys and Girls Club daycare, operated out of the Coverdale Centre, please refer to http://ow.ly/9s1Y50BODED. The Parks, Recreation & Community Relations Office on Biggs Drive remains open to the public. Riverview Dog Park also remains open with a maximum of 10 users permitted at any given time. TENNIS LESSONS Riverview Tennis Club will be offering tennis lessons again, however because of Covid-19, we can only have 6 students per class. Therefore, space is extremely limited and it will be first come, first served. We apologize for this. Classes will be held on either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. This will be determined once we know how many students/groups there will be. There will be no classes on holiday Mondays and make-up classes will be on the Friday o...f the same week. Unfortunately there can be no Fun Friday this summer. Thanks for your patience! The clay has arrived and covid-19 operational plan is complete. We are hoping to have the courts open between June 1st and June 8th. However, we may have to reduce the club hours for the month of June due to limited staff and new covid-19 protocols. It is looking like we will be able to offer junior tennis lessons with smaller class sizes. These will be scheduled to begin in early July. We will update when the courts are open.

We are pleased with Friday's announcement. The committee is combing through the GNB guidance and protocols and are developing a plan to meet all the mandatory requirements to keep members and staff safe. We will continue to work with the local authorities to develop this living document. We ask for your continued patience and understanding. We will provide further updates when we know more. As far as the clay is concerned, the town is in contact with the supplier and it seems the situation has been rectified. Tennis Canada has announced that the "East Coast Open" in New Brunswick has received the 2018 Event of the Year Tennis Canada Excellence Award in the Seniors category especially due to the efforts and quality of the Riverview Tennis Club and their clay courts. Well another successful tournament has come to an end. Joanne and Marty once again went above and beyond to make sure it ran smoothly. They were there from beginning to end. Ed was there every day keeping his ...eye on things. Charles thanks so much for setting up on Saturday morning. Donna and Nisk we thank you for your food contributions. Tom we appreciate all that you did especially your coolers full of ice and food donations courtesy of Dairy Queen. Anne Ganzon thanks for the spring rolls and the noodles. East Coast Open going strong. Come on down and watch the Masters at work.

East Coast Open - Masters Division The East Coast Open - Masters Divisions being held on July 5th-7th at the Riverview Tennis Club is quickly approaching. Now is the perfect time to inform residents and visitors to Riverview on exactly what the East Coast Open is. This is a weekend jam packed with lots of great tournament tennis. With our 6 outstanding clay courts, we have the honour of hosting the master’s division. This division consists of different age groups ranging from... 30+ all the way to 65+. These players play multiple events such as singles, doubles and even mixed doubles. They travel from all over the Maritimes to compete in New Brunswick’s top ranked tournament of 2018. This creates a great atmosphere for any tennis fan to come and watch, and for these players to play in. The tournament will have matches running throughout the day, for all three days, with Sunday being the finals for most of these tournament ladders. These matches will kick-off around noon on Friday and end by 9pm. On Saturday matches will likely begin at 9am and run until about 8pm. Sunday matches will also begin around 9am and run until all the matches are finished which will most likely be around 6pm. For all tennis fans out there this is a great chance to watch some high level quality tennis in Riverview! Stop by the Riverview Tennis Club (located 55 Biggs Drive, just down past the Byron Dobson arena) during these time slots any of the three days to witness some great tennis action.
