Thank you to all the landowners and renters that allowed the RM to complete snow ridging along Highway 41. Without your permission, we would not be able to complete this work! Hopefully, it will help keep the Highway safe throughout winter and early spring.

Reminder for the farmland owners residing in the RM: If you own land under a corporation, rent land in this or in neighbouring RMs or own land in neighbouring RMs, you can use that land towards your 293 exemption. In order to receive your full 293 exemption, an Affidavit listing all owned or rented land must be signed and witnessed by a Commissioner of Oaths before January 30th, 2021. Please stop by the office to complete the affidavit.

The R.M. of Aberdeen No. 373 is again sponsoring a Citizen of the Year Award for Aberdeen and District. The Citizen of the year award is designed to recognize contributions made by citizens to our town & surrounding area's quality of life, both social and economic. Over the past years, we have had the honor of presenting this award to many outstanding citizens of the Aberdeen area. To see the past recipients, please visit the RM Office. If you know someone deserving of being the 2020 Citizen of the Year for Aberdeen and District, now is the time to give them the recognition they deserve! Don't Forget! Today marks the last day to pay taxes before penalty is tacked on! Make sure to save yourself some extra cash and come see us at the office before 5pm. Can't make it in? We accept etransfers and online bill payments! Please note that online bill payments must be made before your bank closes today for the report to have today's date on it.

Ratepayers wishing to switch their school support from the Public School System to the St Paul's Roman Catholic School Division must complete and return the School Tax Declaration form to the RM Office no later than January 30th, 2021. As per Subsection 53(2) of The Education Act, 1995, in order for your taxes to be paid to the St Paul's Roman Catholic School Division, you must declare that you are a member of the of the Roman Catholic Faith. The Rural Municipal Administrators' Association has been challenged to collect tabs to raise funds for childhood cancers. Help us support this great cause by collecting and bringing the tabs from your canned beverages to the RM Office!

Reminder The Aberdeen Transfer Station will be closed Saturday, January 2nd, 2021. Normal operations will resume on Wednesday, January 6th, 2021. Thank you

We received notice from the RM of Corman Park that the Range Road 3050 will be closed effective September 28th, 2020 for approximately 7 days for road construction. Please watch for signage and message boards.

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS RURAL MUNICIPALITY OF ABERDEEN NO. 373 Public notice is hereby given that nomination of candidates for the office of: COUNCILLOR FOR DIVISION NO. 1... COUNCILLOR FOR DIVISION NO. 3 COUNCILLOR FOR DIVISION NO. 5 REEVE will be received by the Returning Officer or Nominations Officer in the rural municipal office, Aberdeen, Sask., during normal office hours until 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 7, 2020. Nomination forms may be obtained from the municipal office or from our website. Public Disclosure Statements must be completed and submitted with the nomination form. Nominations Forms submitted without the Public Disclosure Statement are considered incomplete and will not be accepted, as per subsection 67(6) of The Local Government Elections Act, 2015. In the case of Reeve, Candidate must be nominated by any 2 eligible voters in the RM of Aberdeen. In the case of Councillor, Candidate must be nominated by any 2 eligible voters from the Division in which they seek to run.

Due to a possible Covid-19 exposure, the RM of Aberdeen No. 373 is taking precautions to slow the possible transmission of the virus and to protect the health of our staff and ratepayers. Effective August 4, 2020, the RM office will be closed to the public, however, we remain open for business, and are committed to maintaining our ongoing work for our ratepayers. Should you wish to drop off a cheque for the payment of an invoice, please drop it in the drop slot on the outside... of the office building and we will provide a receipt via mail. Please contact the RM office via telephone (306-253-4312) for any municipal business matters and our staff will be happy to assist you the best we can. Thank you and stay safe

Don't forget that tax payments received on or before July 31st, 2020 for current years taxes will receive a 6% discount on the RM portion of taxes. Payments can be made by etransfer to [email protected], through your online banking as a bill payee, or by cash or cheque. When searching for us as a payee, try searching for "Aberdeen" and see which options are available. If you are not able to find the RM, try searching for "373". Each bank has us listed a little differently, so you may need to try different search options to find us. Do not choose the Town of Aberdeen, they are a separate office and we will not receive the money. Your RM customer number will be your account number. If you do not know your customer number, please contact the office. We will also accept post dated cheques.

Tax Notices were mailed out early this year, being sent on June 3rd and 4th, 2020. A discount of 6% is being offered on the RM's portion of taxes until July 31st, 2020. 5% will be offered in August, 4% in September, 3% in October, 2% in November. No discount is given in December. No discount is allowed on the school portion of the taxes. If you have not received your tax notice yet, please contact the office and we can resend or email a copy of the notice to you. Hail levies have not been calculated yet. Anyone enrolled in SMHI will receive a revised tax notice once the hail premiums have been added. A discount of 5% is available on hail levies until September 30th, 4% in October and 2% in November.

Reminder: Crop report for the Sask Municipal Hail Insurance are due today. Crop reports can be filed online at https://www.smhi.ca/ or they can be dropped off at the office by placing them through the overnight mail slot on the front of the building.

Construction update-Cherry Hills Road: Due to the construction on Highway 5, Cherry Hills Road may have disrupted or limited access throughout the week.
