Today it was time to harvest a great crop of wheat on Community Acres!! Thanks to Scott Eklund for organizing the use of a combine from Pattison Ag. Also a b...ig thank you to Mike Clark of M. Clark Custom Hauling for having his truck available to get the grain off the field. Each year a group of farmers and Ag companies volunteer their time and services to sow and reap a crop on Community Acres. The profits from this project helps to fund our Rink. We greatly appreciate the efforts of all those who help to make this endeavour a reality! Also a big shout out to Chris Lincoln who each year oversees the entire project. See more

UPDATE: Leak has been found and regular water usage can be resumed. Thank you for your cooperation! For those ratepayers using the tankfill at the Village water treatment plant please read the following request from the RM of Wallace-Woodworth We are requesting all users to limit water consumption and reduce all non-essential water usage immediately until further notice. We are currently trouble shooting a possible break in a water line. Thank you for your cooperation and patience in this matter. If you have any questions or concerns please call the Virden office @ 204-748-1239.

REMINDER: Nominations are now open for APAS Rep Elections! On November 9, 2020, APAS will hold elections for APAS Representatives. We will be accepting nominati...ons for APAS Reps from now until October 7. APAS members interested in seeking election as an APAS Rep can find more information (including responsibilities, nominations form, and election procedures) at apas.ca/election. APAS Reps are elected from among the ratepayers of our participating RMs. They work on behalf of members in their RMs and further the work and goals of APAS.

Starting Tuesday, August 4, 2020, our Maryfield Public Library Branch will be opening the door to our patrons!!!! - ON A LIMITED BASIS. We are still being very ...careful and several measures will be adhered to: Our branch will be allowed to have 4 patrons in total in the hallway and branch. There will be spaces delineated with tape and signs posted to maintain social distancing requirements. As only one person at a time will be able to enter the branch itself, others may wait in the hallway until the person in the branch has left and the librarian has had time to disinfect the areas used - for everyone's safety. Once inside the branch,you can drop off returns in a provided bin, ask for books that you would like to pick up, or ask the librarian to choose a book, DVD or magazine for you. NO BROWSING will be allowed yet. One of the Public access computers will be available for use as well. It may be used by only 1 person at a time, for a maximum of 1 hour (if no one else is waiting to use it) and may be used for essential business use only. The computer will be sanitized between each use. MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL: You will be expected to clean your hands with the provided antibacterial hand sanitizer upon ENTERING AND LEAVING our branch. We are being mindful of safety practices to ensure everyone's safety. Curbside drop off and pick up services will still be in place if you wish to use them.
