Please be advised that the burning ban has been lifted.

Please be advised that there is a BURNING BAN in the RM of Gimli effective immediately and will remain in effect until further notice. Extremely dry conditions this spring have increased the risk of out of control grass fires and wildfires. The safety of residents is priority and this ban is in effect to help protect lives and properties. The BURNING BAN includes ALL FIRES - bon fires / fire pits, garbage burning, fireworks, yard waste and agricultural burning.... Items that use propane tanks such as BBQ's or fire tables are allowed. Please note that if a fire is lit during this period and becomes out of control, the person who lit the fire will be held responsible for the cost of resulting damages and will be fined We will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates when any changes occur.

The RM of Gimli is prepared to ease the financial burden of COVID-19 on Property and Business owners. Council has made the decision to waive penalties for unpaid property and business taxes for up to two months following the due date of August 31, 2020. Late fees will be waived until October 31, 2020. This unprecedented plan to provide financial relief for property and business taxpayers is our way of showing our support to those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. ... We understand that not everyone may have the ability to pay bills on time; however those who are able to meet the due date are encouraged to do so. Mayor & Council
