Compatible cell phones and wireless devices in Canada will be receiving emergency alerts sent out by Alert Ready on November 25th, 2020 at 1:55 PM local time. These are the same alerts used for potentially life-threatening situations currently sent to television, radio, cable and satellite service providers for broadcast to the public. These alerts will sound the same as the alarm that is used on television and radio and your phone will vibrate. The message will look like a ...text message. Please note that you cannot opt out of receiving these alerts, but you do not have to have data and/or text messaging and there is no charge. Not all cell phones and wireless devices will be able to receive the Alert Ready cell broadcast alerts. Below is a link that will allow you to see if your phone is compatible. Effective November 19th, 2020, masks are required within all public buildings in Saskatchewan. Masks are required when entering the municipal office in Marengo.
