It is officially August 1st! Know what that means? Only two months remain to get your employees certified for Working at Heights. As many of you may know, the original deadline for Working at Heights (April 1st, 2017) was extended to October 1st, 2017.... Our next Working at Heights training date is approaching August 12th. As many of you may be aware, The Working at Heights deadline had been extended to October 1, 2017; lengthening the transition period by six months in specific circumstances. August is quick approaching.. which means, only two months remain to have your employees certified! This extension, or these 'specific circumstances', only apply to those who are enrolled in a CPO-approved working at heights training program that is scheduled to be completed prior to October 1st, 2017. P...enalties can still be incurred. "For clarity, the employer of a worker eligible for this extended transition must have written proof of the worker’s enrollment prior to that worker performing work that would otherwise require successful completion of an approved working at heights training program. This proof of enrollment must be made available to an inspector upon request. The proof of enrollment must include: 1. The name of the worker 2. The name of the approved training provider 3. The date on which the approved training is scheduled to be completed 4. The name of the approved training program" This requires workers who use travel restraint systems, fall restricting systems, fall arrest systems, safety nets, work belts/safety belts to have the appropriate training to ensure personal safety in the workplace.
