At our Annual Holiday Party held on Wednesday December 6th at Baton Rouge we were able to collect $2,000.00 in gift cards as well as 3 car loads of Toys for the kids of Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Southwest Durham. If we combine that with The Mortgage Centre- Durham’s Staff, Agents and Brokers donations the total sits at approximately $11,000.00 in cash and gift cards plus all of those toys! Thank you to all who participated and help make this event so successful!!

Another successful Parliament Hill advocacy event is complete and I’m very proud to have stood alongside the executive board members and member volunteers of Mo...rtgage Professionals Canada as we conducted almost 60 meetings with MPs, Senators, and federal policy makers. Over the course of 2 days in Ottawa, we delivered consistent messages regarding the potential economic impact of the impending stress test for conventional mortgages and asked for some common sense adjustments to better serve Canadian mortgage consumers, their housing markets, and the multiple unique regional economies across Canada. A special shout out goes to our friends at AMBA for their participation as well. To the team that gave their time, knowledge, experience and expertise to assist in these conversations, I wish to express sincere thanks, both personally and on behalf of the executive and chair, Mark Kerzner, for each of your individual contributions.
