Responsibilities: Interview clients, prepare case histories and assess problems Develop and implement counselling care plan to assist clients in determining goals and means of attaining them Facilitate group sessions both virtual and face to face. Liaise with community agencies or partners, and identify additional or alternative services and provide referrals... Evaluate the effectiveness of counselling programs and interventions, and clients' progress in resolving identified problems and movement toward defined objectives Follow up on results of counselling programs and clients' adjustments Provide public education Prepare case notes and enter client information in database May participate in fundraising activities Qualifications and skills: Minimum of Social Service Worker Diploma Professional College membership or registration with a mental health association Post Graduate counselling experience with diverse populations Ability to set short term objectives and use a solution focused approach Ability to clinically manage high-risk cases, including clients who are a threat to self or others Able to work with individuals, couples and families and posses sound knowledge of community resources Excellent time-management skills with the ability to handle a large volume of clients Excellent verbal and written communication skills Exceptional customer service focus, high professionalism and adherence to ethical principles of conduct Basic knowledge of computer systems Applications accepted until 2 February 2020

FOR the HOLIDAYS - The Robbie Dean Centre team is taking a much needed respite. The Centre will be closed from the 21st of December until the 4th of January. If you have an emergency please connect with the crisis line by calling the Centre at 613-629-4243 and choosing option 1. If you wish to leave a message for the team, messages will be returned on the 4th of January. Thank you for your understanding as everyone regenerates in preparation for an anticipated very busy 2021.

Well Covid threw us a curveball... And this community knocked it out of the park. After you’ve patiently waited for our final count, I am BEYOND excited to an...nounce that we once again not only met our Covid goal of matching last year - but we smashed it. $32,963.43 in memory of Patty. WOW. (*will be rounded to $33,000) I know I sound like broken record, but this community continues to just blow my mind. People always want to compliment the organizing of the event, but it is all of you who make amounts like this possible. I counted 4 times cause I couldn’t believe it, thank you all SO much for this amazing support. I truly can’t begin to tell you how much it means to us, and even more so to the people at the @robbiedeancentre that these funds will be helping. As exciting as this is, we still think we’re only getting started. This brings our 3 year running total to over $65,000. Volunteers dedicate hundreds of hours to the Robbie Dean Centre. This commitment contributes greatly to the Centre’s ability to meet the needs of those who reach out for help. It was decided that every year we would acknowledge the devotion of one such person and present them with Robbies Wings This year, we have chosen to honor Mrs Julie Wren. Julie has been volunteering in various ways with the Centre since 2014. She brings compassion, professionalism and energy to e...verything she does. Julie is a wonderful ambassador for mental wellness not only in her personal life but her professional life too. At the Centre, she helped develop the partnership with Parents Lifeline of Eastern Ontario that brought a parent peer support group to the Valley. She took the training to become one of their local facilitators and as such has supported many parents who care for youth with mental health challenges. She has helped and continues to help with our fundraising events and she is one of the facilitators of the Grief and Loss support group. Julie is an invaluable member of the team. She is patient and kind to all, but she has a determined streak to ensure no one stops growing. We remember her saying to someone in group, But our job here is to heal and look forward not stay where we are. She has the capacity to help others find joy and laughter and that is one of her greatest gifts. Thank you, Julie from all of us. See more
