I am once again appalled by the comments of Mr. Neufeld on social media and I am renewing my public calls for him to resign as a school trustee. It’s reprehensible that his offensive behaviour continues. In addition to targeting the LGBTQ community, and peddling conspiracy theories about Dr. Tam and COVID-19, he is now targeting ableist slurs at individuals.... It’s time for him to step down. I applaud the Chilliwack Board of Education’s previous decision to remove him from all committees and not to allow Mr. Neufeld to interact with any of their schools, as his view points are in stark contrast to the promotion of safe and welcoming schools in B.C. I’m now looking at all possible options that Government may have to address this situation. Under the School Act, Cabinet has the power to remove an entire board but not an individual trustee. I'm also calling on the BC Liberals to denounce Barry Neufeld and his harmful comments to people with disabilities.

3 hours until polls close, folks! Let’s elect a government to get us through the pandemic and build a stronger province that invests in people and the services they rely on. Lines are short and safe. Our best days are still ahead of us.

My Victoria-Swan Lake constituents Alan and Leni have experienced first hand the NDP government's hard work rescheduling elective surgeries. "The BC NDP has done such a great job. They've dealt with the big backlogs for the elective surgeries during COVID-19. I'm really grateful for that" says Alan, "It only took two months and I got the surgery I needed. Now I have 2020 vision in 2020!". People like Alan are the reason the BC NDP government has fast-tracked surgeries that were cancelled due to the pandemic and made sure over 2/3 of surgeries were completed. We'll keep working to make sure people get get better and faster health care, closer to home.

Today, Victoria-Beacon Hill candidate Grace Lore and I visited Mr. Frank Conibear, teacher and Indigenous academic support advisor at Victoria High School. Everyday we must recognize the importance of raising awareness about the intergenerational impacts of Residential Schools. In 2018, to begin addressing the historical wrongs caused by the residential school system, our BC NDP Government implemented a new K-12 curriculum that ensures all children in BC are taught about Indigenous cultures and history. We all share in the responsibility of reconciliation.

Yesterday I stood alongside John Horgan as he committed a re-elected BCNDP government will add four new MRI machines to our healthcare system, ensuring people can get an MRI quickly and closer to home.
