Joshua Harms Art first came on our radar when he created a stunning pair of shoes in collaboration with Baggins Shoes He had been a customer of our store for quite some time, and we knew right away that a creative project was in order. This film is a major first for Robinson's, and we are so incredibly excited to share a bit of Josh's story, as well as how he has found solace and inspiration for his art outdoors, especially through a year like 2020. We hope this film brings an awareness to mental health as well as why we should strive to protect our great outdoor spaces here on Vancouver Island and across BC. Working with Josh has been an incredible experience and we are just so happy to provide someone from our community with a piece of art that means so much and that will live on her walls for years to come. Last year Faelan, Landon and Deon journeyed out to climb the Nose on Mt. Arrowsmith as a warmup for the alpine climbing season. They hiked in, over Mt. Cokely (a retired ski hill) via the CPR trail. After visiting Telegraph Cove, they continued on their adventures to the Northern tip of Vancouver Island where they explored white sandy beaches and the stunning beauty of Cape Scott. "It felt like we were on the set of Avatar. One of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever explored. Breathtakingly beautiful and so worth the trip out. It was the furthest North we went on the island. Happy Monday! You know the infamous sticker box we keep under the counter? Well take a look at what we just added to the pile!! That's right, Robinson's now has our own stickers, free to our super amazing customers! Here's a really cool fact: the sticker with the fish was actually designed and created by the one and only Pavel Francev (a dedicated customer of ours) Seriously, go give him some love for the stellar design he made for us. (Also, thank you Harry Davies for your incredible sticker modelling ) #NextGreatAdventure

Well we had over 600 entries, and I guess that that tells you these must be a solid pair of boots from La Sportiva! The lucky winner of our boot giveaway was Saskia on Instagram (@saskiank) Thanks so much to everyone who entered, it's been a blast being able to give back so much to our community this December. Robert Rodriguez taking us back to warmer (and sunnier) days outside. It may not be T-shirt season, but who has just as much fun outside during rain-shell season? #NextGreatAdventure

On Day two of Erin and Ryan's adventure to the tip of the north Island, they stopped in for a quick visit to Telegraph Cove This small, 108 year old community is rich with history and is now a major jumping off point for eco-tourism! Originally, it was suggested the cove be used for a telegraph lineman’s station. The telegraph line ran from Campbell River to Port Hardy, and eventually also included the community at Cape Scott. The first inhabitant here was lineman Bobby Cullerne. His job was to patrol and fix the line when it went down. At that time the line was strung between trees, and a trail followed the line. When the line went down (literally) Cullerne had to walk the trail to find out where the trees had blown down and find a way to repair the line. Talk about getting to hike for a living #NextGreatAdventure

And on the final day of their epic roadtrip, Erin and Ryan finished off with an absolutely classic VI adventure. With a stop into Strathcona, they walked along the sandy beaches of the incredibly lengthy Buttle Lake, and spent the night in the meadows below Kings Peak! "Strath is one of my most favourite places on the planet/island." And with that we'd have to agree. Vancouver Island is full of incredible places full of adventure, and we hope that these photos from Robinso...n's owner, Erin, have ignited some ideas for your own adventures this weekend. Last month, Robinson's owner Erin took a well deserved vacation up and down Vancouver Island! They rented an RV and hit the road in search of some exciting backroads adventures... The first stop: Schoen Lake Provincial Park "What an amazing hidden gem on the island! Perfect for enjoying a hot dog and brew while exploring around and fly fishing. We loved this spot and would say it was my fave of the trip. It wasn’t the wurst time." #NextGreatAdventure

On Day 4 of Erin and Ryan's cross-island road trip, they discovered some of the magic that lies within a Backroad Mapbooks "On the way back from Cape Scott we discovered this awesome spot called Georgie Lake thanks to our BRMB that we’d never heard of before. Road trips are so magical when you have time to explore with a backroads mapbook! This spot had around 4 campsites and a boat launch, which was extremely peaceful and serene! Great place to enjoy a The Strait & Narrow with a hot dog as well. " #NextGreatAdventure

Our hearts are overflowing as once again, our amazing customers remind us of the power of relationship and community. The shifting colours of fall are certainly a sight to behold every year. Even in the alpine, we get to see one of the prettiest times of year make haste through our most beloved landscapes.
