While fishing is a great social distancing activity, there are a couple things anglers need to keep in mind while ice fishing this season. Ice shacks (i.e.,... enclosed shelters for use in ice fishing) may be used and do not require the use of masks and physical distancing if the occupants are immediate household members (i.e.: people you currently live with). The use of ice fishing shacks by individuals who are not from the same immediate household is prohibited at this time under the current health measures. Regarding travel, occupants in a vehicle must be limited to members of the same household only. If carpooling must occur, physical distancing should be maintained as much as possible, and masks must be worn. Do not travel or share a vehicle if you are ill or have symptoms of COVID-19. Ice shelters left on the ice must be marked correctly. This includes your name, address and phone number on the outside in a manner that is easily readable. An...d when you're ice fishing this winter, please remember that consuming alcohol is not permitted in ice shelters as they are considered public places. See more
