The Rock Solid Bred Heifer sale was founded on a desire to provide the highest level of quality females to become staples in cattle herds across the country, raised by good hard working people who stand behind their cattle. While neither of those foundational values have changed, our sale also has a deep appreciation for passing the values and lessons of agriculture onto the next generation. One of the ways our sale has dug into this core value is our consignors dedication to... the Arnal Boys Memorial Bursary for Young Farmers. This bursary, established in 2014,provides funds to youth interested in agriculture who provide a business plan and has seen many young farmers and ranchers flourish. To date the Arnal Boys Memorial Bursary has funded over $240,000 in agricultural projects across Southwest Saskatchewan and just over $128,000 has been generated for this bursary through our sale. This goes to show that the folks who purchase heifers through the Rock Solid Sale have just as much dedication to passing on our way of life to the next generation as our consignors do. Each year we auction off one bred heifer, donated by a consignor, with proceeds going to the Bursary. The 2020 Donation Heifer is being donated by Kelly Topham of Top Land & Cattle. This top quality tan heifer is excited and ready for sale day. This is the second heifer Kelly has donated, the first was in 2015. Last but certainly not least we would like to introduce: Diamond K Cattle Co. Ltd. Diamond K Cattle Co. Ltd. is located in the Cypress Hills 18 miles southwest of Maple Creek, Saskatchewan. This is a ranching operation run by brothers Bryce and Lance Weiss. The cow herd consists of Red Angus x Simmental cows. We breed those cows to Simmental and Red Angus bulls to produce the and blood bred heifers that we offer for sale in the Rock Solid Bred Heifer sale We introduce...d some Charolais bulls back into the herd a few years ago so that we can continue to offer some of our top-quality tan bred heifers. This cross has been dominant in our program but it is also the focus of 90 % of our previous buyers. Many of our customers purchase our red heifers and breed them to Charolais bulls to produce a top quality cross bred calf. This red cow, white bull combo produces offspring that is hard to beat at the auction market. We guarantee our heifers to perform, if there are any problems we stand behind them 100%. If for any reason you are not happy with your purchase we will refund or replace. We offer complementary delivery, don’t worry about bringing your trailer to the sale. All the heifers are exposed to proven Red Angus bulls for a tight breeding season. The heifers were exposed for 46 days from June 5th to July 20th. Heifers receive Express pre-breeding, and in the fall they get their first shot of Scour Guard and Ivomec.
