Rocket 88 Band Kelowna

Rock and Roll is a vicious game, so is life. This week the Band lost one of it's founding Members and lead guitarist, Tom Harrison. Far too young. Tom and Rich started Rocket 88 with Dave, Brent and myself back in early 2015. A give the shirt off his back kind of guy, with a great smile and a calm sense of modest professionalism, Tom was very talented and a terrific human being. This picture taken back when the 97th St. Pub was a Pub, is typical...you can barely see Tom stage right... just out of the spotlight. Tom never stole the show by being centre stage, he just rocked the house with his talent. Ironically Jeff Lakey, seen here also on guitar, was a guest for a few songs with us that night who now plays with us regularly. Rest in Peace Tom, so many will miss you.

Hey Rockers... so we’ve gotten the word we have had to cancel Memorial Cup and Ribfest due to Covid 19 but the Band remains very hopeful to be able to perform live as soon as the opportunity presents itself. You can’t keep a good band down! As the barriers of contact come down so do our opportunities to play together which we are so extremely grateful. Stay safe. See you soon. All good things come to those that rock.

So the Band stays appropriately socially distanced at this time...good time to work on some new tunes. We wish you all health and happiness during this unprecedented time for us all. The show will go on!! When the storm subsides know you can dance like nobody’s watching cuz they won’t...they’ll all be too busy dancing!

Rocket 88 proud to part of the Community, rocking out at the Memorial Cup main stage playing Sunday May 24th and Headlining Friday night August 21st at Kelowna Ribfest this year.

New Years Eve was a blast. 250 people rocking. So much fun. Looking forward to this Friday at the Manteo for a private Corporate event. More rocking!
