An important note from Collen Clark - Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce. HAVE YOU LAID OFF EMPLOYEES DUE TO COVID-19? Many employers in BC might need more time before they are ready to recall employees laid off due to COVID-19.... If you expect your business will have temporary layoffs longer than 24 weeks on August 30, you need to apply to the Employment Standards Branch to further extend the layoff. You must apply by Aug. 25 for the extension. Failure to apply will constitute termination of inactive employees, and you will need to pay severance.
This is my first consulting client. In the 20 years since John has diversified beyond Artex Manufacturing into some very interesting agricultural companies. That's the Rock Solid effect. Click the pic to see the short video.

I have shared this before. Ive quoted it numerous times. But its always worth sharing again.
As predicted by your Rock Solid Coach in April The good news is that the recovery is clearly underway and, if it is sustained, this recession will be the shortest on record, just two months from peak to trough. Policy-makers should begin thinking of ways to keep recovery going rather than focusing only on bridging people and businesses through the crisis while keeping in the back of their minds the real possibility of economic backtracking. People have faced many hardships... as a result of the deepest recession since the Second World War in terms of the fall in GDP from peak to trough. Understanding where we sit in the business cycle is important for policy-makers as they navigate an uncertain recovery. The news lately has been encouraging. Lets do our best to ensure it stays that way. This is all dependent on avoiding the second wave.

Changes to the eligibility criteria for the Canada Emergency Business Account (CEBA) to include many owner-operated small businesses. This extended measure will help small businesses protect the jobs that Canadians rely on. APPLY THROUGH YOUR BANK - the changes will take effect soon. The changes to the CEBA will allow more Canadian small businesses to access interest-free loans that will help cover operating costs during a period when revenues have been reduced, due to the pa...ndemic. The program will now be available to a greater number of businesses that are sole proprietors receiving income directly from their businesses, businesses that rely on contractors, and family-owned corporations that pay employees through dividends rather than payroll. To qualify under the expanded eligibility criteria, applicants with payroll lower than $20,000 would need: a business operating account at a participating financial institution a Canada Revenue Agency business number, and to have filed a 2018 or 2019 tax return. eligible non-deferrable expenses between $40,000 and $1.5 million. Eligible non-deferrable expenses could include costs such as rent, property taxes, utilities, and insurance. Expenses will be subject to verification and audit by the Government of Canada. Funding will be delivered in partnership with financial institutions. More details, including the launch date for applications under the new criteria, will follow in the days to come.
