A little Sunday fun working on this historic piece. This broad axe comes from my friends cabin in BC where it was used around 1900 to hand hew railroad ties. They asked me to make a handle for it on Friday and I was pretty excited to work on this . Something very different and nostalgic. Well I just discovered that the Wind is NOT my friend . Went out to my friends farm where I store most of my wood etc in an old grain bin . Only to find that last weeks 130km/hr + winds had ripped the roof clean off and blew it approx 100m away.
