Rockyford Lions Club 06.01.2021

Sept 21, 2020 The Rockyford Lions Club is moving forward with the construction of a multi use structure in the campground. This facility will be open to the public for use and will include picnic tables and a wood burning stove. The facility will be built on the north side of the campground area and construction will be starting this week. We apologize for any interim inconvenience and please give the contractors the space needed to do their work. The funds for this project are part of money fundraised and volunteering at casino's.

Community Members, On Friday, June 19th, the residence of Angie Bergnach suffered damages as a result of a fire. As with most insurance claims, there are costs associated with this type of incident that are not covered. Historically, the Rockyford Lions Club has organized a benefit that would provide the community the opportunity to offer donations to the victims of such a devastating event. Due to the limitations on social gatherings, the Lions Club is unable to organize ...this type of function. At this time, we ask that any community members that are able to assist do so by making a cash donation and the Lions Club will forward all those donations to Angie. Watch for donation jars at local businesses or contact any Lions Club member to make your donation. Thank you for your support

On Monday evening the Rockyford Lions Club hosted the 4H Beef Club members and families for their annual achievement night. Pictured is Lion Justin Geeraert presenting the Lions Club Champion trophy to Anna Newell with 4H Leader Johanne Lawn. Coincidentally, our own Lion Odo Melcher was the first recipient of this award in 1960 when he was a 4H member. This year the Rockyford 4H Beef Club has 32 members and continues to grow. The Rockyford Lions Club congratulates the award winners and wishes as much success to the members for the coming year. Learn to Do by Doing

Last evening our club hosted the annual Lions Maritime Madness. Again this year it was a sold out event. We received a huge response from donors and equally supportive crowd of buyers. Last night we raised almost $33,000 dollars for various community projects. The Rockyford Lions Club would like to express our sincerest appreciation to the many donors and buyers. Without these folks we would not be successful. We would also like to thank the Rockyford 4H Beef Club members for their help and the Irricana Lions Club for a great meal. And a very heartfelt thank you to Gary & Kim Geeraert for their purchase of the ROCKYFORD Good Guys Plaque. Great community people. This event demonstrates a true partnership that promotes community spirit and supportive activities. Hope to see everyone again next year.

Good Morning, Today is the last chance for tickets to the Rockyford Lions Maritime Madness supper and charity auction this Saturday. Last year the Irricana Li...ons Club catered the meal and was received by rave reviews of attendees. Following the supper is an auction of donated items that provides funds to support the clubs and organizations of our community. This is one of the Rockyford Lions Clubs major fundraising activities. The evening is not only viewed as fundraising but also an opportunity for community fellowship. In Rockyford, the Lions Club has been an integral part of every recreation and sports group that has ever existed. If you have ever utilized one of our facilities or sports groups please thank a Lions member as that’s the reason for their existence and please consider joining us on Saturday evening. Darcy
