Tomorrow is Remembrance Day in Canada, and many countries around the world. Remembrance Day 2020 may look a little different than previous years, but our commitment to remember is enduring. Rocky Mountain Aircraft’s operations will be closed tomorrow, allowing our team members to take part in socially distanced ceremonies, remembering all those who sacrificed their lives for ALL our freedoms.... #lestweforget2020 #remembranceday
So our friends down National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) are celebrating their 50th Anniversary. They do some great stuff. They have an amazing Instagram feed that is worth checking out - @noaa https://issuu.com//do/noaa_publication_50_year_anniversary #NOAAat50 #50YearsOfNOAA
We continue to follow best practices to mitigate the risk of infection from the COVID-19 virus. Doing our part to protect and keep our people healthy this year. Flu clinic on-site today for our team so we can be Flu Fighters too.
Digital Autopilot for Twin Otter Aircraft. Using one of Rocky Mountain Aircraft‘s Twin Otters, Genesys Aerosystems(S-TEC) put the new system through its paces in all modes and aircraft configurations to gain FAA approval for a new digital three axis autopilot. Nice to see one of our latest projects pictured on Twin Otter World
How cool is this? One of our apprentices, Hannah, wanted to mark the completion of the first major aircraft rebuild that she was involved with from start to finish. She commissioned another of our staff members, Nick, to build her a scale model of MSN 367. What do you think of the results?

Hey do you remember when we told you about James? James who custom designs Twin Otter T-Shirts and swag which are super popular with our staff and clients. Well we are excited to share his new website. Where everyone can order his unique designs. Items are printed on demand and sent out to individuals worldwide after they have submitted an order. Check out Jimmy’s Plane Tees - https://bit.ly/3msHgbM

Staying Solution Focused 2020 has kept us on our toes. Looking at Twin Otter Ingenuity and Adaptability - https://bit.ly/3ie2xDi
Our employees are passionate about what they do. Each year James custom designs a new T-Shirt which has always proved very popular with the staff. This year’s design has a sketch of the view out of a Twin Otter window on the front and has a graphic on the back incorporating all of the twin otter serial numbers that have passed through Rocky Mountain Aircraft in the last thirty-plus years. Such a great way of capturing all the work we have done and keeping us all connected!
We are excited to be featured in Twin Otter World News Take a look at their site for the latest news in the Twin Otter World. https://www.twinotterworldnews.com/blog/
We have some pretty creative types here at RMA. Geoff Lawrence , one of our long term employees was messing around with the settings on his camera this morning and got a couple of interesting shots of the new hangar.
DON’T JUST KICK THE TIRES AND CLEAN THE WINDSCREEN There is more to reactivating aircraft as we emerge from the COVID-19 lock-down. - https://bit.ly/3ei8wp8

Rocky Mountain Aircraft would like to welcome its newest employees. All recently (almost) graduated from SAIT and entering the worst job market for aviation since the day before this happened. Congratulations: Adam, Micheala, Eli, and Quentin
Well, it's been a long time coming, and with considerably less fanfare that we had planned, we got to open up our brand new 19,000 square foot facility for the inspection of our staff. The big party, invited guests and food trucks have had to be postponed, but suitably socially distanced and masked, the staff of Rocky Mountain Aircraft at least had the chance to enter and inspect their new hangar, built just across the ramp form our original purpose built facility. The new hangar will help us to continue to provide the same exemplary service for which we have become know, while crucially at this time, aiding in social distancing.
In the midst of this crisis, I would like to give a shout out to one of our business partners. Siu, at Ariewest Upholstery Incorporated is our go-to guy when we need repairs to soft aircraft interiors. However, when it became clear that face masks were more than just a good idea to mitigate the spread of #COVID-19, we approached him to see if he could make masks for our staff. Within 24 hours, not only had he fabricated enough for each of our staff to have one, but his de...sign was superior in fit and comfort to the one that we had proposed. Within 72 hours he had fabricated enough that we could give each of our staff a couple of spares so that they had extra time to clean them between uses. To Siu and all of the staff at Ariewest, and to all of our partners who are making it possible for us to continue to keep working, a big and heartfelt thank-you.
COVID 19 Update Despite the current unprecedented and challenging times, as part of the essential transportation system Rocky Mountain Aircraft remains open for business in support of airlines and operators worldwide. Rocky Mountain Aircraft is working with our international and domestic partners to maintain open and connected supply chains during the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure that businesses can continue to deliver essential goods to people that need them.... Our facilities have mitigated the risk of infection with the virus that causes COVID-19 using multiple government and health care recommended strategies in our workplace. - All international travel for RMA employees has been cancelled until further notice. - Workers returning from international travel will be subject to a 14-day self-quarantine. - All non-essential travel within Canada will be curtailed and determined on a case by case basis. - Personal hygiene procedures and facility cleaning will be enhanced. - Visitors will have limited restricted access and only with advance notice. - Our supply chain will be under ongoing review to ensure minimal schedule disruptions Operators can be reassured that Rocky Mountain Aircraft will continue to provide the same level of quality support during these difficult times.
COVID-19 Pandemic Statement Rocky Mountain Aircraft and our employees are all striving to navigate the difficult global situation. We want to reassure all of our clients and industry partners alike that we are committed to continuing to serve and support your requirements throughout this period. We are continuing to implement protocols within our facility that elevate our existing employee health and safety, particularly concerning hygiene and social distancing, and are foll...owing all provincial and federal advice on how to remain safe. Rocky Mountain Aircraft’s business activities and operations are proceeding as normal as possible, with the exception that employee travel has been curtailed and we are enacting more flexible work practices. We do recognize that transportation remains an essential service and we will respond appropriately to any AOG/emergency requirements that arise. We look forward to continuing to provide exceptional service both during this period and after the crisis has abated. Management Team Rocky Mountain Aircraft

NEW HANGAR UPDATE. After breaking ground last March for the construction of a new 20,000sq hangar Rocky Mountain Aircraft are soon going to be able to move in to the new state of the art facility. The construction of the new facility will provide the ideal environment for our highly skilled maintenance staff. This is a significant statement of Rocky Mountain Aircrafts global position and reputation as the premier maintenance facility for Twin Otter and other similar twin tu...rbine aircraft models. Our business volume currently requires a continual reshuffling for the aircraft in the existing hangar. The new facility will greatly reduce this inefficiency stated Rocky Mountain Aircrafts Business development manager Andy Cook. The new hangar doubles the available hangar space at our Springbank facility and makes our real estate footprint the biggest at the airport. Rocky Mountain Aircraft have begun hiring for additional maintenance personnel for the expanded operations the new hangar will bring. Future upgrades to the new facility include a new climate controlled paint booth The hangar was constructed by Bird Design Build Construction
