Important Message From Rockyview Pharmacy: Influenza Immunization Program begins October 19, 2020 High-risk Populations might be eligible to get the vaccine as early as October 1st, 2020 The vaccine will be offered, paid for totally by the government, to all Albertans. We offer booked appointments (please call 403-946-2342) and walk-in with few minutes waiting time.... Influenza is serious. Prevention is your protection. Get immunized this season! High-risk Populations Includes: Pregnant Women; Seniors aged 65 years of age and older; Individuals of any age who are residents of nursing homes and other chronic care facilities; All children 6 to 59 months of age; Indigenous peoples; and Adults and children with chronic health conditions: o cardiac or pulmonary disorders; o neurologic or neurodevelopment conditions; o diabetes mellitus and other metabolic diseases; o cancer, immune compromising conditions (due to underlying disease, therapy, or both); o renal disease; o anemia or hemoglobinopathy; o morbid obesity (body mass index [BMI] of 40 and over); and o children 6 months to 18 years of age undergoing treatment for long periods with acetylsalicylic acid. Influenza vaccine is also recommended for those capable of transmitting influenza to high-risk populations: Household or close contacts of individuals included in high-risk populations listed above; and Health Practitioners
