Getting closer on the filler panel for the #40ford Making the ends. Started with a paper pattern which was transferred to styrofoam. Pulled a tape pattern off the styrofoam and used it to make the the sheetmetal pieces. Pieces are all reverse curves with a tapered radius's. The #34ford is all squared up and flows perfectly. We found that the drivers side was nearly a 1/4" shorter, so we cut the inner rocker/longitudinal and slide it forward. Now the door fits nicely and everything is square. Mounted the drivers door on the 34ford. However when we started checking the car with body sweeps we found nothing flowed well. We pushed the upper door post out 1/2" on the drivers side and 1/4" on the passenger side. The drivers wheel well was pushed out 5/8". We also melted out the lead about the b pillars and removed all the wood to repair cracks. We plannished these areas and eliminated the need for lead. We installed all the glass on the 52 f100. This was the first time I had done one with the stainless trim. Was not fun to get the stainless to seat in the rubber. Work continues on the #52ford. Machined up a hat for the top of the steering column. Not sure why or how but the tube was an inch too short and mangled. So the easiest and fastest solution was to machine a hat which we pressed on.
