The issues facing the world with the Covid-19 virus is unprecedented. Given that motels are on the Ontario government’s newly released list of essential businesses, we have decided we will remain open. We take the care and well being of our staff, community and guests seriously. As such we have implemented the following policies. Meeting free check in policy. When you arrive, a welcome letter with your name and room key will be waiting for you at our office. You are welc...ome to pick it up and go straight to your room. Meeting free check out policy. When checking out, simply place your key in the drop box. In-person assistance is available by telephone request only. For the duration of this epidemic, we will not be offering tidy service to the rooms. We are limiting the number of rooms available. Health Canada says that Covid-19 can survive on surfaces for up to 3 days. When a customer checks out of a room. We are blocking that room off and leaving it uncleaned and empty for 3 days after checking out. This will allow any potential virus to die before the room is entered, cleaned and further disinfected by staff. To accommodate people who made reservations before understanding the scope of the COVID crisis, we will either rebook or issue refunds (at your request) for deposits on reservations made before March 24 2020, for arrival dates between March 24 to April 20, 2020. Cancellations for reservations made after March 24, 2020 are subject to our regular cancellation policy. We may extend this policy to reservations made before March 24, 2020 affecting stays after April 20, 2020 based on the best available information at a later time. We are thankful for each and every visitor who stays with us. Know that your decision to patron rural businesses like ours is an important contribution to our communities. It means we can continue to provide accommodation for truckers, to emergency personnel (police, Fire, EMS) and to the people they drop off in need of assistance. Our clients also include people suffering vehicle breakdowns or lack of fuel situations, as well as local construction workers protecting our critical infrastructure such as our local Whitney dam renovation. During a time when predictions are that 1/3 of small businesses will not survive, your confidence and patronage helps keep our lights on, our supply chain moving, our taxes paid, and local people employed. By staying with us, you hare helping us provide stability in our community, in very uncertain times. we’re excited to announce that Ashley and Andrew have purchased the Algonquin East Gate Motel from David and Diane Tansley Kay, We want to thank David and Diane for doing a super job running this place for the last 30-ish years! We’re so excited to be able to continue on their legacy of excellence!... Congratulations to David and Diane on their retirement! We have joined the East Gate Motel to our other properties and we will be running the Dreamcatcher Motel, Bellewood inn, the rolling Rapids Motel, and the East Gate Motel as one business Our office is now located in the most central and most accessible location at the Algonquin East Gate Motel please visit us there to check in Over the next little while we are also developing a store called Algonquin antlers that will be located in our new office We look forward to serving our existing customers and we look forward to meeting the customers of the East Gate Motel in the future!
