Great opportunity for a unwanted guest to enter your home during middle of the night. Before going to bed, check for any open windows. Close them for the night. Especially on the main floor.

Please Share! What’s with the flashing green lights on a vehicle? All drivers are familiar with the emergency red flashing lights and sirens on police cars, amb...ulances and fire trucks. It is common knowledge that drivers are required by law to pull to the right and stop when they see or hear emergency vehicles approaching. Flashing green lights, on the other hand, aren't quite as well known, but carry with them the same urgency as the flashing red ones. A flashing green light indicates that a firefighter is on the way to the fire station for an emergency. Essentially it is a way of asking the public to move over and let them by so that they could respond to the call a little quicker. The law does not require motorists to pull over for flashing green lights; it is voluntary. While only firefighters can use flashing green lights, they do not have any additional privileges to circumvent the law. It’s important to remember though that pulling over when you see a firefighter's green lights can have a big impact. Paid on call firefighters must first travel from their homes to the fire hall, so if traffic yields to them it can help speed up response times. So please consider pulling over when you see flashing green lights. It could save somebody’s life!
