'Like I Love You' is about falling in love. Do you remember how it feels? Exciting, joyful, overwhelmed. Painful, uncertain, vulnerable. Chocolate and Blood. Wh...en first wrote 'LILY', it was too heavy, too much pain. I sped it up about 10 beats per minute. Still too heavy. So, I sang it a step and a half higher. The joy and suffering feelings found the balance for me. As Terry Medd and Scott Bell added instruments and Scott sang the harmony line, we tried to keep the balance of Chocolate and Blood. How does LILY make you feel? Thank you to the many family and friends who appear in video. Thank you to the many Slow & Steady Hikers for learning the words to LILY and for singing on the trail, even when I wasn't there. Special thanks to Scott, Terry and all of the musicians who contributed to this journey into the heart.

'Can't Go Back' was our first recorded song. When it was all done, I asked Scott if he had a favourite line. He immediately said yes: "We keep throwing blows they all seem to hit someone's gonna drop... we gotta end this shit." Fond memories of vocal recording days in Terry's studio. I've been enjoying the country music that they sometimes play at the gym I go to. 'I Never Wanted' is a break up song, so we thought that we would like to give it a country feel. There are two slide guitar tracks in the song. We had two done and liked them both so we used each one in different areas of the song. This is among our first songs. Listening today I would really like to have sung this one better ... I would have sung it a step and half higher. We learned as we did ...more. I've experienced a full amount of worry and fear in my life. Much of it unwarranted. That's why I wrote 'Be Still'. Our minds can create a great deal of emotion...al and physical stress that takes a harmful toll. Often, sitting alone, still, focusing on breath (meditation) can separate us from the whirlwind of stress. We wish you peace this holiday and Christmas Season.
