Well Good Day RDMS Friends & Fans......h0pe y'all are staying well and healthy!! I haven't posted much lately, as unfortunately there isn't much to report since COVID-19 invaded us!! This has truly been a very sad/bad year for so many small businesses and organizations including the Non-Profits! There is absolutely nothing we can do about it and if we tried to host any kind of event we would be breaking today's laws about "gatherings"! Yes, we can hope and we can pray, an...d many will get the vaccine, however, it just seems that we take 1 step ahead and fall 2 steps behind with being told there is now a NEW strain of Covid! Our family has , so far, managed to avoid any kind of problem as we wear our masks when told to do so, and social distance, nor do we take "holidays" like our government tells us not to do!! Hmmmm!!! (LOL) I often hear from some of the performers and of course everybody is getting antsy about whether or not we will EVER be allowed to do events again! I have a strong faith, and I believe the day will come...however, it could be a L_O_N_G time and if that happens some may have lost interest in working with any kind of event, not to mention the loss of a whole lot of "funding" for those who WE SUPPORT! For our RDMS, I have to tell you that being unable to hold any kinds of fundraiser, this past year was pretty much a washout and that hurts my heart a lot because it is the 10th Anniversary of Ron's Death..January 4th, 2011, and with no funding and being unable to try to bring in any kind of monetary help, speaking for myself, things are not looking good at this time, as to how long we should continue to wait and see, if things are going to get better and open up, or Not!! If it turns out that our Board of Directors feel that we should close down our RDMS organization, I will let everybody know that...BEFORE it is done!! My wish then, would be that we could HOST just ONE MORE EVENT...kinda like a send-off! So, on that note, I would like to ask you to continue to PRAY for the WORLD, our COMMUNITY, and RDMS..that a great change might happen and the Pandemic will no longer be controlling us and all that we do! Thanks for listening everybody! When I tell you, you are loved and very much appreciated..I MEAN IT!! I have always been a "people person" and I can tell you this..I have NEVER MET a PERSON I DID NOT LIKE!! I take that from a well known cowboy named "WILL Rogers" So Haopy NEW YEAR 2021 and let's all believe together that things are going to get BETTER!! I will keep you POSTED!!! Love to y'all coming with a VIRTUAL HUG!! See more

Good October Morning Fans & Friends of RDMS! Today I have some disappointing news to share with you, and it makes me sad to do so! However, due to the spreading COVID Pandemic, we have decided to POSTPONE our Annual Ron Dunkley Memorial Blood Drive" usually held at the Langley City FireHall at this time of year! The Fire Hall was not able to accommodate this kind of event due to the virus, which is understandable, thus we decided that by having the Blood Drive next year, p...ossibly in the Spring, we would still have many DONORS come out in support of the RDMS and Ron's memory! Meanwhile, we are aware of the importance of more blood being needed, more than ever over holiday seasons and so we ask that you attend one of the regular blood drives happening in your areas! We WILL be back in 2021 and we look forward to seeing you then! Thank you so much for your big hearts and giving spirits! Hugs to all of you........Sandy Dunkley - President RDMS See more

Good October Morning to our FB Friends! Time sure flies during Pandemic, doesn't it? The VERY sad thing is, we have NOT been able to schedule any kind of EVENTS through these past 7 months, and had to cancel our Shredding event this Fall, thus NOT GOOD for our RDMS! At this time I have nothing to report on anything other than the ONE Piece of GOOD NEWS regarding our RDMS "BLOOD DRIVE" at the Langley City Fire Hall taking place on Sunday November 29th, 2020 from 9 AM to 4 P...M! This is our FAVORITE event every year as it SAVES HUNDREDS off LIVE...Blood is "The Gift of Life"! Please try to come out as it is going to be "totally COVID Safe" and you will NOT be asked to be close to anybody other than the Canada Blood staff! This will be the "10th Anniversary" of this Blood Drive which was started by the Langley City Firefighters while Ron was still fighting for his life in Harborview Hospital! Please come and support this VERY Special Blood Drive!!! Thank you to everybody who continue to support the RDMS!! See more

This is the poem written by my very good friend, Jim McGregor, minutes after the Twin Towers fell on Sept. 11, 2001 in New York City Most people remember that horiffic day but for those who might not...it was a terrorist attack on the USA and I was living in Nashville TN at the time it happened! Jim's poem went on to be memorialized along with the picture taken of the Firefighters lifting the Metal Cross which had withstood the disaster!!

Good Morning to ALL our wonderful Friends & Neighbors who we always look so forward to seeing at our events! However, it is with deep regret, that I am now advising y'all, that our SHREDDING EVENT which was to be held on Saturday April 4th at the Langley City Fire Hall, will NOT be happening as we are POSTPONING it to a later date when we are NOT a Society in "ISOLATION"!! For safety measures, we felt it best to hold this event later, at a time when we are able to go out am...ongst others without fear of being affected by the Covid-19 Virus! Thank YOU...ALL of you who planned to attend this as the PROCEEDS were to be for our Annual Scholarships given to LSS and Brookswood Secondary! Stay tuned for a NEW DATE to be announced when we are SAFE to do so! Have an AMAZING SUMMER everybody......staying close to home and family! What better way to spend your days!! Love to y'all......maybe see ya' in the FALL!! Sandy Dunkley on behalf of our RDMS BOARD!
