We got this Christmas present from my Daughter Amy and Son in law Scott. Been waiting for a sunny and breezy day to see the repurposed bike wheel's full potential. The birds like it too!
Merry Christmas to all!
I know that there is still a shortage of some sizes of bicycles, especially the popular 'Cars ' and 'Frozen' themed ones. Here are a few small ones that might fill the bill. Although they are not brand new, they are all serviced and cleaned and come with my 30 day warranty. $30 for the 12 1/2 inch bikes and $40 for the 16 inch models.
Came across this. Looks interesting.
It's Racing Season! Yes these are Sulky wheels- but the same size as many bike tires & wheels, Plus the drivers call them "bikes"! Although these were a real pain to try and center on the rims..
Keep a look out for this one. Call Brockville Police if you see it.
I guess I know what I'll be doing this winter..I've had this bike for about 3 months and just getting around to rebuilding it now. Diamondback Outlook with 16.5" aluminum frame, double discs and 24 speeds. Only 60 or so bikes to go!
Hey- IT IS possible. My truck in it's new/old home. I have not had room for it in the garage since late March!! I have lots (and lots) of bikes to rebuild over the winter...
So I used a lot of tools this summer and had to replace a few (Nothing lasts forever) as well a buy a some new ones because bike manufacturers keep changing things. Anyway, I came across this handy tool guide that I'll share with you now...Enjoy! TOOLS EXPLAINED DRILL PRESS : A tall upright machine useful for suddenly snatching metal stock out of your hands so that it smacks you in the chest and flings your beer across the room, denting the freshly-painted bike which you ha...d carefully set in the corner where nothing could get to it. WIRE WHEEL : Cleans paint off bolts and then throws them somewhere under the workbench with the speed of light. Also removes fingerprints in about the time it takes you to say, 'Oh sh*t' PLIERS : Used to round off bolt heads. Often used in the creation of blood-blisters. HACKSAW : One of a family of cutting tools built on the Ouija Board principle... It transforms human energy into a crooked, unpredictable line, and the more you attempt to influence its course, the more dismal your future becomes. VISE-GRIPS : Generally used after pliers to completely round off bolt heads. If nothing else is available, they can also be used to transfer intense welding heat to the palm of your hand. OXYACETYLENE TORCH : Used almost entirely for setting fire to various objects in your shop. Also handy for igniting the grease inside the wheel hub out of which you want to remove a bearing race.. PHILLIPS SCREWDRIVER : Normally used for opening old-style paper-and-tin oil cans and splashing oil on your shirt; but can also be used as the name implies, to strip out Phillips screw heads. STRAIGHT SCREWDRIVER : A tool for opening paint cans. Sometimes used to convert common slotted screws into non-removable screws and butchering your palms. HAMMER : Originally employed as a weapon of war, the hammer nowadays is used as a kind of divining rod to locate the most expensive parts adjacent the object we are trying to hit. UTILITY KNIFE : Used to open and slice through the contents of cardboard cartons delivered to your front door. Especially useful for slicing work clothes, but only while wearing them. ADJUSTABLE WRENCH: aka "Another hammer", aka "the Swedish Nut Lathe", aka "Crescent Wrench". Commonly used as a one size fits all wrench, usually results in rounding off nut heads before the use of pliers. Will randomly adjust size between bolts, resulting in busted buckles, curse words, and multiple threats to any inanimate objects within the immediate vicinity. Son of a B TOOL : Any handy tool that you grab and throw across the garage while yelling 'Son of a b*tch' at the top of your lungs. It is also, most often, the next tool that you will need. See more
As I have said many times: 'You never know what is going to come through the door.' Any guesses?
Could be a long winter folks.. here's an opportunity to get out!
One happy (and tired) man. After seven months with no room in the garage for his truck, Ron has finished the last one. Time to slow down. Ron's Classic Cycle is still available, though, for all your bicycle needs
When I was a kid, we knew where all the dogs lived and rode by those places fast!
OK so after a visit in our home away from home to my Children & Grandchildren it is time to get back to fixing bikes and providing refurbished bikes to Kids & adults.. If I have not yet returned your messages left on my home phone, please feel free to contact me!
To my clients past & future: I am going to take a little break from bike repair over the next 2 weeks or so. In order to get rid of my current backlog I will not be accepting any more bikes until my vacation is over. I will post when I return. If you have a bike emergency in the interim, let me know and I can direct you to another shop nearby. Thanks all! Ron
Check this out. Never know what may come through the shop door..Connie & I delivered it up the road when completed.

Bike Tips for you..These two tips will help you keep riding.. 1. If your tube stem is not perpendicular to the rim, you MUST let all the air out of the tire and pull it on the rim to make the stem stand up straight. If you just fill it like this you will cause leaks. It is also an indication that you've been riding without enough air in the tire.Every tire has a rating on the sidewall for air pressure- fill it to the maximum. 2. When changing pedals..The left hand pedal has a left hand thread, the right hand pedal has a right hand thread. Always know which pedal is going where before you start trying to tighten it and ALWAYS put a dab of grease on it before hand. Happy trails!!

I usually have cars in here, but lately..There just isn't room! Most clients are opting for the full tune up deal @$35 which covers all but new parts. Seems like cycling fulfills both the need for exercise as well as social distancing!

I was just riding along when...with thanks to Taj Mihelich
Hey all you potential Mountain bikers- what do you say? You have less than a week to cast your vote..
Every Bike mechanic has stories of a client coming to the shop with a badly bent out of shape bicycle (often with parts missing or destroyed). When I ask what happened the story usually starts with " I was just riding along when..." I have found a website where a fellow mechanic has posted several of these and I'll post them over the next few weeks for your enjoyment..
Yes all you fat tired MTB'ers- a road bike!
It is that time of year! If you're looking for a good used bike for yourself or the kids drop by soon for the best selection. These are some of the bikes available now.
A cruel, cruel joke Mother Nature....
It's getting warmer...
