Root Dwellers Music Showcase 20.11.2020

It is with much sadness that we share the heartbreaking passing of local singer-songwriter Kellen "Bear Bones" Saip Kellen Saip was well known and much loved in the Vancouver music community. I have been following Kellen and his music for a long time. His incredible songwriting, commitment to his art, his community, family and friends was truly admirable. Kellen was a loving father, husband, brother and son and for those that knew him a bigger than life personality and... awesome sense of humor. Kellen almost played our music showcase a few times, but life happened and his performance with us never came to be. If you can give financially a Go Fund Me fundraiser has been created to help build a financial cushion for the Saip family. https://www.gofundme.com/f/saip-family-support May he rest peacefully. He will be deeply missed by so many.

NEW MUSIC VIDEO AND SINGLE RELEASE 'Headlines' by Paul Caldwell Music. starring the 8 year old son of Root Dwellers founder, Benji and his brother buddy Bryn. (Mother of Benji, Claire, is teary eyed every time she watches it) Full video on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_-0JDMSA2Y The video was filmed at Claire's home and nearby Trout Lake by the amazingly talented videographer/photographer Jack Madeley who made Benji feel so at ease throughout the entire film...ing Jack Madeley and Paul Caldwell Music. hired an electric bike so that Jack could capture Benji and Bryn's bike ride with such depth as they rode ahead of Benji. The rain came and went which set the mood for filming such a heartbreakingly beautiful video, whose words take you on a trip down memory lane. 'Headlines' is a song about Paul's memories as a child, remembering what it was like growing up in Ireland and the tragedies that came with the Troubles in Northern Ireland. Paul lost 2 friends to the Omagh bombing in 1998 and this video and song helps Paul to remember his young friends in life and not in death. Amazing little actors Benji and Bryn take you on a bike ride experiencing a world in motion, a world where nothing else in the world matters to them except that bike ride. These boys are alive, their hearts sing as they ride, they are in their element. Thanks to Jack Madeley andJeff Zipp at Light Machine Records for producing this song and video, helping Paul bring his vision to life. It's a precious keepsake for Paul Caldwell Music. , Benji, Bryn and their parents and families See more

Our live show last Saturday was like no other with a beautiful audience at the @anzaclub This precious, unforgettable, emotionally driven show will live in our hearts for a very long time. To quote Kas of Winter Youth he says "The spirit of tonight will live on". There were tears shed, air hugs, wi-fives, and much needed, long overdue connections made at safe distances. Mesmorising, captivating performances by special guests Winter Youth and Ian Cromwell Music in front ...of an audience who felt blissfully happy being able to attend a live show and who felt safe, as all our Covid protocols were adhered to. Thanks to our audience for feeling safe enough to attend! Your presence meant so much to the artists and Root Dwellers. Astoundingly epic performance by headliners The Long War who threw their heart and soul into every breath of their set playing amazing new songs and their incredible hits. Truly magical. Thanks and much appreciation to Chad Gilmour of Galaxy House Productions for the spectacular live stream. He wore a few hats as he also performed with his band @thelongwarband ! Comments by those watching were blown away by the impressive sound and picture quality.
