A Doula’s job is to make sure the mother is supported, of course, but also that the midwives, partners and support people have what they need to stay relaxed, hydrated and fed too. Birte from Mountain Midwifery is showing me an acupressure point she calls the pain off switch! I learn something new at every birth!

I talk in my classes about how often women halt labour until they’re ready to have their babes. Whether it’s waiting for a loved one or needing to discuss worries with someone, (or taking an exam!) women have more control than they often think!

I think I’ve caught up with all the soon to be or now new parents who patiently waited for in person classes to happen again! I love teaching prenatal classes at The Health Nest! There is an amazing group of women working out of this space and I feel blessed to be a part of it! We’re able to comfortably social distance with 4 couples (each couple with their own couch!!!) My November session is full, December session almost full, and I’m adding more 2020 sessions if needed. ...I love seeing and talking bellies and babies! At The Health Nest! Carrie Sizer
