Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! As we count down to the 2019/2020 year at Roots and Branches, we also celebrate our 9th year of operation. We give thanks for the opportunity to serve the community through dance & culture! We’re back!!! Giving thanks for a safe and eventful #carifesta2019 in Trinidad and Tobago ! Thanks to all of our donors, family, and friends that supported us to experience this amazing Caribbean festival. A huge thanks to @rhomaspencer and @joan.pierre & C-Can for leading us. Special shoutout to @cydt_toronto, @kashedance1, for making this trip all the merrier. Through all the fun, laughter, tears, and pain, everyone got home safely and in one piece. Readying up! Happy afterbana everyone! While the rest of the city is winding down, we are heating up for Carifesta! Roots & Branches and Children and Youth Dance Theatre are the two youth dance companies in the 60 artist Canadian contingent and we been putting in the werk!!!... Seen here R&B Director @tamlamatthews who delivered a summer caribbean intensive workshop to help refine technique, presentation & execution. The Cydt dancers were amazing: attentive, responsive & immersed! Thanks for the invite CYDT!! Along the way CYDT director Andrea Douglas found some moments to gaff, laugh & inspire is all....we are already making #carifesta2019 memories!
