Echinacea purpurea also known as purple coneflower. A perennial herb native to North America that makes a classic wildflower addition to every garden. It’s also one of my favourite flowers.. here’s why! Echinacea grows wild in prairies, woodlands or roadside. It loves full sun and sandy well drained soil, it’s incredibly drought resistant as well. They’ve been know you thrive in harsh conditions where other plants can’t. Best of all they’re pollinator friendly, attracting h...ummingbirds and bees from summer to fall with their long bloom time! . My favourite part about this beautiful plant though? It’s immune boosting abilities. Our naturopath recommended it to help fight off a cold years ago, and now come flu season each year echinacea + oil of oregano are my allies at keeping colds at bay. Echinacea is an all around powerhouse of a plant; with medicinal abilities, being pollinator friendly, and stunning cut flowers to show. Consider planting her magic in your garden next year if you haven’t already!

They’re entitled to their own opinion during my morning reiki session with @sarahjpalumbo today those words are what really stuck with me. I have to accept that fact, as most of my young adult life I’ve put things on pause or let go of amazing ideas entirely out of fear of what other people might think. It’s really sad admitting that out loud to you all, but it will allow me to hold myself accountable to not do it anymore in the future. And I’m sure so many of you have do...ne the same in your life time, letting go of opportunities or dreams out of fear of judgment or others opinions. So here is to starting (or continuing for some) to live your life authentically, the way you’ve always truly wanted to without fear or judgment of others - because at the end of the day as everyone’s told me, it’s none of their damn business anyways. As my partner Tyler always says, you’re the one who has to live your life not them. So you should spend it doing what you love and what makes YOU happy. To a future of more care free living, and following your dreams without fear of things that don’t matter anyways

Nothin’ beats freshly picked wild Canadian blueberries! Thinking I’m going to have to bake another one of those blueberry breakfast cakes with these little sweeties. The recipe for it will be moved over to our brand new website ready to launch soon I’m excited about our new recipe templates that are downloadable and printable!

She may look fierce, but she’s the most loving cuddly kitten sized cat around. My little Willow and I share the same birthday, and a love of the garden together. I can always find her hiding under the giant hosta leaves in the garden by searching for her molten orange eyes (which happens to be my favourite colour). If you believe in kindred spirits or spirit animals I can tell you she sure is one of mine. All 3 of my fur babies and I have a special connection, but little Willow bean and I are truly one in the same
