With winter comes snow and lost solar production. If the snow isn't too deep it will eventually melt away on the warmer sunny days. However if it's sunny and -20C the snow will never melt. From a production standpoint winter days and shorter, the sun is lower and there are more grey gloomy days so we are not missing out on the best solar production. If you can clear the snow from your panels it's always a bonus, but stay safe and stay off the roof in winter.
